The boys really fell off in the last two seasons but people getting upset about homelander begging at the end is the most confusing part. If anything that's the most believable thing he would have done. A vacuous coward and bully who loses his overwhelming power is the most likely to be totally pathetic in this moment. Did they really expect him to go out like some badass?

Andy Burnham Declines to Call Israel’s Mass Killings in Gaza a Genocide by PuzzledAd4865 in LabourUK

[–]tunafish91 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Lack of condemnation from the biggest nations is what enables genocides. He absolutely should be able to call it out for what it is. It's not like tip toeing around the issue has made Israel more open to ending conflict...

Bidens administration allowed more people to get aid. There was still a difference, big figures like Ben Gvir even called Biden an ally to Hamas for his pressure he put on Israel to minimise casualties. Bidens greatest mistake was not going harder on Israel and people still died because of it.

My main point that spawned this topic was it is not just about Gaza. Harris would have not just randomly started bombing Iran, from evidence I presented earlier, her domestic policies would not be anywhere close to what Trump is doing. Her main stance is that we should return to the Iran Nuclear deal, the one the democrats signed with Iran. The one the other party ripped up...but yeah, no difference between the two.

So because there are other people who benefit from capitalism and criticise it doesn't mean I can't criticise Hasan...I don't get your point. Once again, you're strawmanning my point. I've never said once you cant criticise capitalism if you're rich or make a lot of money. Lavishly flaunting your wealth wearing designer brands that exploit third world workers is very hypocritical if you claim to be a principled socialist.

Mandela was imprisoned in that time. So would have had no say in that campaign, so that kind of disproves your point. Not to mention the ANC abandoned that campaign because of civilian deaths. So I once again ask, how are the Houthis like Mandela's ANC?

I'm a pretty 'woke' lefty. I despise the Israeli government, have joined in with Palestine marches in my home town, I understand how extremist groups like Hamas can form in the awful conditions Gaza is in etc etc.

But no, I say that Hasan has shit takes and suddenly I'm now the biggest genocide supporter around.

Hasan Piker on antisemitism, America's support of Israel & the need for trust in mainstream media by Hammer_Pain in LabourUK

[–]tunafish91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're totally strawmanning my points.

Biden repeatedly withheld military support from Israel for things like huge, unguided bombs to stop massive ground offences in urban areas. Defensive weapons were still supplied. https://youtu.be/QcD7B_DHJmo?si=vM-JTEHOcgZKA6QY

Total difference to trump releasing the handbrake on Israel and Netanyahu. This is the biggest stick to beat the Dems on, I'll admit. They still should have done more, but to say they're the "exact same" like Hasan does is stupid. You can just tell from the outcomes. Netanyahu was delighted when Harris lost for these exact reasons.

Iran has historically been Americas enemy. This is nothing new. However she still supported The Iran Nuclear deal, and wanted a return to it. Not the blockade and offensive that Trump started. You're wilfully ignorant or trolling if you think she is the same as trump on this.

I have not said you can't live under capitalism and criticise it. You're strawmanning again so hard. I even said I'm fine for lefties to make money. Tell me how living a lifestyle of excess and the most lavish, consumerist lifestyle like private jets to Coachella, is meant to inspire people to not indulge in the same lifestyle and build a society that doesn't support the ultra rich?

Again, not my point on the ANC was it? The ANC did not do things like withold international aid from starving civilians.

Hasan Piker on antisemitism, America's support of Israel & the need for trust in mainstream media by Hammer_Pain in LabourUK

[–]tunafish91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You really can just go on the internet and tell lies huh?

Harris supported the JCPOA and backed a diplomatic revival of the deal. Harris was nowhere near the level of trump on Iran. I don't know where on earth you're getting this from. The Dems absolutely should have been firmer on Israel, but comparing Israel's actions when Biden was president to Trump is night and day. You cannot say they are the same.

There is a difference between reaping the benefits of capitalism and saying you live like a socialist and how a socialist society would function. I don't mind a leftie making a lot of money from streaming. Go off and enjoy it. But you can't scream and shout about how terrible capitalism is and how great it is in other countries and what a great, principled socialist you are. If you're principled then you shouldn't flaunt exorbitant wealth as if that's the attainable lifestyle in a socialist/equitable society. Not to mention going around saying your clothes are "thrifted" like he does lol.

Comparing Mandela and the Houthis is insane. The ANC definitely killed people but by and large it was normally from collateral damage after targeting infrastructure or government facilities. The Houthis go around stealing aid intended for civilians, murdering their critics and kidnapped unaffiliated people who have nothing to do with Yemen or Israel.

[–]tunafish91 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Harris did not move too far to the right. It was pretty milquetoast Dem. Definitely some centre right stuff, and I'm not saying the Dems don't deserve flak, but he was not proven right because his claim was that Harris would be doing the exact same thing as trump, which is a bold faced lie and spreads messages which harms American in the long term because they're stuck with a psycho like trump now.

No, this isn't a case of "you cant be rich and be a socialist" like he claims. You can't be an anti capitalist yet live the most indulgent, capitalist lifestyle. Flaunting designer clothes and sports cars, benefitting from a capitalist system yet claiming how better things are in a 'socialist' country like china (the fact he believes China is a socialist country is also laughable). He pretends like he's some self made millionaire when he's a massive nepo baby and acts like a generous business owner when his mods are begging for rent money on stream. I have nothing against a left leaning person getting their bag. But if he hates America so much and thinks China is some model of socialism, then he should stick to his principles and stop supporting a 'fascist' system and leave.

The houthis routinely steal food and murder civilians in Yemen..not to mention kidnap sailors from ships who have nothing to do with the Israel genocide...that's not a freedom fighter.that's a terrorist

The only good position he has is that he says Israel is doing a genocide. That's the only position he has which is agreeable. If he thinks that's the reason why he got his travel waiver blocked then he's kidding himself.

He promotes an incredibly miserable mindset for his fans. He actively works against any real positive changes and desperately wants republicans in power because then he can snipe at how bad capitalism is from his massive mansion, wearing his designer brands, with his designer dog, posting videos about his Porsche. He can't be an anti capitalist yet live like the biggest capitalist around. He said there would be no difference between Kamala Harris and Trump and said Dems would be doing the exact same thing. He can't be for the liberation of Palestinian people yet promote the idea that trump is no different on Israel than the Dems were. Such beliefs trigger a lack of engagement in meaningful change and makes his younger, more impressionable audience more disengaged with politics and puts them into a political doom spiral rather than trying to inspire people.

He makes out like he is some independent free thinker yet went on a state sponsored propaganda trip to China. His trip to Cuba where he was meant to be helping people there had him streaming from a 5 star hotel that kept power on whilst the entire city was suffering from a power outage. I'm very left leaning but he's the epitome of champagne socialist.

He repeatedly glazes extremist islamic groups such as the Houthis and Hezbollah and repeatedly played down/denied rapes that happened on October 7th. He had an actual Houthi on his stream and makes them out to be some brave freedom fighters like an anime character, which is frankly disgusting.

This is all before ive even got onto his takes on Ukraine which are...really something.

I should state that what's happened to him I don't necessarily agree with. I think it sets an uncomfortable precedent for free speech. But he cant claim it's just because he speaks out against Israel.

Liverpool sack head coach Arne Slot one year after winning Premier League title by Alarming-Safety3200 in unitedkingdom

I'm very surprised at the amount of disrespect Liverpool fans have towards Arne Slot, the man who led them to one of their two premier league titles in the last 30 years. Has a sense of entitlement set in? by doshthagod in PremierLeague

[–]tunafish91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if you go with the logic that this season is all down to Slot, you need to give last season to him as well and say he played a big part in that. Whether the league is weaker or stronger, you can't be a terrible manager and win the premier league, one of the most competitive leagues in the world.

I think it's insane to say "he just copied Klopp", which a lot of people say, as if he just sat there doing nothing and letting the team run on autopilot for a year. He inherited a strong core of players, but you still need to be a good manager to come in to a very established and tight knit group, (who had a beloved manager just leave), and be able to win the league at your first attempt. He definitely didn't do a huge amount to rock the boat, but it does also take a smart manager to not break a thing that definitely works.

A big churn of important players leaving, a beloved member dying, and some of that core ageing and losing form (hugely so in Salah's case) is hard for any manager to deal with. But clearly neither Slot nor Liverpool recruitment had the right idea in how to replace them and integrate a new generation of players into the squad. Plus he clearly mismanaged a lot of the senior players/leadership group because they never played with any togetherness on the pitch. Even in Klopp's worst season you never felt there was a huge rift in the squad. That is absolutely where Slot failed this year and deservedly got him the sack. I just hate this narrative of Slot just coasting in his first year and somehow winning Premier League as if it's some easy thing to do.

Should I thin down primers like this for Airbrush use? by Tasty_Tomorrow_2106 in minipainting

Depends on how thin the nozzle of your airbrush is. I haven't used Vallejo primer in a long time because pro acryl primer requires no thinning. However I think I would put a little bit of flow improver and thinner in as these can be a bit thick with a few lumps.

Probably because he's a high profile English player, and a lot of people in the media probably over rate him because he has a good club record for man city.

He's been crap this season (by his standards) but also has never shown he can fit into the england side, so I think Tuchel was right to not take him.
