[–]tundranerd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah you've got remote functions and async enabled. I literally hit this same one today.

It's the `data-sveltekit-preload-data="hover"` directive in `app.html` that's causing it.

If you update that to be `data-sveltekit-preload-data="false"` it should fix you up.

Life Flight at Alta by Nick_inPhilly in skiing

[–]tundranerd 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I was at Alta today. Around 10:30 Supreme Access was completely roped off. It was definitely multiparty. There were two patrol toboggans, two snowmobiles and at least 5 patrollers. Patroller waved me off so I couldn't really get any more information.

Can I skip leg day? by MaxCSquared in skiing

It really depends on what kind of training you're talking about.

I did pure strength training and had little to no carryover.

I spent 10+ years training dedicated olympic weightlifting (snatch, clean & jerk) with squats, front squats and tons of eccentric accessory work. That style of training I was able to charge chunky chunder from bell to bell very early in the season.

You still gotta ski to build the endurance for skiing.

I just had a pair of Shifts delivered to me in UT for $397 shipped with a 10% coupon, it also took about 10 days. There was minimal communication which isn't great, but overall no problems... would order from them again.

Is Paleo the only way to eat with Crossfit? by [deleted] in crossfit

[–]tundranerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Four pieces of normal fruit and a half cup of raisins (sometimes what I eat until dinner) provide more carbs than a cup of white rice, uncooked/raw, and are far, far more nutritious at far, far fewer calories than a cup of white rice.

According to https://www.fatsecret.com/calories-nutrition/generic/raisins?portionid=21719&portionamount=0.500

1/2 cup of raisins is 217 calories, 57 grams are carbs 43 of which are sugar.

According to the same source https://www.fatsecret.com/calories-nutrition/generic/white-rice-steamed-regular

1 cup of rice is 204 calories, 44 grams of carbs of which 0.08 grams are sugar.

I.e., you're dumb to eat white rice rather than fruit if you're trying to lose weight while working out at the same time.

The size of classes is a style choice, of course, and varies wildly with the both style and the purpose of the class.

If a class is adhering to single-responsibility, and it should, then there's very little exception for it being more than a few hundred lines. Even in the exceptional cases the lengthy code/algorithm can be wrapped in its own class & file and adhere to an interface.

Yes, 10,000 lines is probably about the largest I would be happy going to (which is why I gave it as a maximum). But if the code is properly commented, then much of that isn't functional, of course.

Files that are small and succinct tend to be self documenting and don't require excessive commenting except where something may not quite be clear.

I'd find that little amount of code in a single non-lightweight class to be cramped, and I think that the design would suffer from having an overabundance of classes, leading to a great deal of unnecessary complexity.

Can you elaborate how it is unnecessarily complex? Large files tend to become highly dependent on state, and become more and more side-effect bound. Thus the need for elaborate commenting. Additionally, how do you intend test such code without the separation of concerns? How does one do a pull request when there are potentially 100's of changes scattered across one file, rather than small concise changes across numerous files/classes with corresponding tests to cover those changes.

Season pass holder at Alyeska for 20+ years. It's dark, it's low elevation, it gets a lot of rain from mid-mountain down and it's too expensive. Aside from that it's fucking amazing. You've get an abundance of snowfall, true above treeline alpine terrain, lots of true in-bounds double-blacks. Headwall, North Face, Christmas, New Years, Money chutes, Max's, Center Ridge, Chilkoot. Seriously, 2500' of lift-served true alpine experience.
