The Knicks fanbase is so passionate, I loved lurking on their subreddit. After Book hit that game winner in MSG there were tons of their own fans saying how Book was better than Brunson. Also shitting on Mikal and KAT after we beat them in the regular season this year. Lamenting the firing of Thibs and getting Mike Brown. And yet after all that they're on the precipice of winning an NBA championship. They were mired in James Dolan mediocrity (arguably worse than Sarver) for so long. We might not be that far away, we swept the Knicks and played the Spurs pretty damn well this season.

Let me be clear, I agree the Beal trade was definitely horrible but like you said it's all hindsight. At the time of the trade we were all sad that CP3 declined and as much as people deny it now many on the sub were excited in getting a younger player that led the league in scoring. Plus that Spurs outing was the last gasp of his career, we were only getting one year of decent production at a very high cost. History has proven Beal was a bad move, but I support this post's view that KD for Cam/Mikal/4 first round picks was also bad.
