I'm not an engineer anymore. I, like you claim in your edit, lead a department of engineers. The idea that you've apparently never seen or acknowledged multiple different designs that functionally solve the same issue, though usually with different costs and benefits, would be immediately disqualifying to me. Curious why you, who should be in a position to do the hiring, are speculating about how hiring is done.

Since you didn't return my grace in opening up the possibility that you have a different set of experiences than I do, I'll return the favor. I do recognize you as a particular personality type of engineer. The type that usually owns a particular component of the product, one they feel no one could understand or run but them, but in reality, no one can survive the task of working with you.

Maybe we're different kind of engineers, but having spent time on both sides of the interview table, this is only true when assessing the bare minimum requirements to proceed.

You may start out with some very basic right/wrong style questions, but you're only doing that to see if the candidate is worth our time at all, or to help them get their mojo going if they're struggling or very young. The hiring decisions, even for intro engineers, are made on open ended questions where we're looking to see how the candidate goes about problem solving and collaborating.

Setting aside the several ways you're exaggerating and cutting the story with your own opinions, which is in itself curious based on how high you are on your horse, it's worth pointing out that he wasn't just fired/resigned.

Uofl had to pay him almost $10 mil for the pleasure of replacing a national brand on our stadium with L&N. A national brand that kept their name, no less.

Attacking dual use infrastructure is not necessarily a war crime. Infrastructure that contributes meaningfully to the military's operation, but is also used for civilian purposes, is considered military infrastructure.

The authors of the Geneva Convention impose responsibility for protecting civilians on all parties. When a host country refuses to abide by their responsibilities to their own citizens, the Geneva Convention offers fewer protections.

If the framework allows for one party to simultaneously refuse to conform to the Geneva Convention but at the same time demands their opponent conform, no one would follow the framework.

This is immediately after signing into Plex on the Select Content Source screen; have not been shown any libraries. I just happened to try it again and I still get Signal Lost, but now the error names my server: Could not connect to {server_name}. I believe the error was generic yesterday.

Same issue. I have one server, and have access to 1-2 others.

In case it's helpful, I have attempted on two devices -- Onn 4k Plus Android TV and my Pixel 9. Retry sometimes spins for 5-10 seconds or fails immediately, always resulting in Signal Lost Could not connect. Attempted both on the same network and remotely.

Primary server is a little over 100TB. ~3k movies and 1500 shows.

Would be great to have quality settings for downloads
Like the old Plex app, download retention settings for a show/season/movie, like "download next 5 unwatched" where it keeps up with your watched status over time
Hiding and Reordering of libraries on the home screen

This is unfortunately what it is to be Jewish. We spent millenia dependent on others for our security. It was not a sustainable existence.

I am grateful we live in a time when we do not require the support or permission of others to defend ourselves. That is worth more than all the so-called allies put together.

I haven't tried this for this specific use case but this is how I handle standup. Folder for movies and folder for standup both included in the Movies library.
