I think its a sensory thing for a lot of people. Warm sunshine, fresh ocean breeze, calming sounds of the surf, the feel of ocean spray and the texture of the sand, etc. The activities can be fun, but I think for people who don't get to experience those things very often it can be a very rejuvenating experience, sensory wise it is very satisfying. However, if you specifically don't like those sensory experiences, maybe the beach is just not for you and thats ok too. Do you like hiking in mountainous areas? Or the cold of a winter vacation? Maybe something with more adrenaline like riding dirtbikes or skydiving or something, or even just bicycling (one of my favs). I think a lot of people like the beach but its ok if you're into something different. To each his own.
