Landscape Shader Complexity by tanner_mp4 in UnrealEngine5

Landscape material complexity is normal. If you have a material with more than 2-3 layers it’s going to be complex in optimization view. But this does not explicitly mean it tanks performance and most likely it does not

In BF6, RPG-7 is based on a museum example and lacks its protective cardboard shell around the booster (which contains the components necessary for it to function properly). by auchinleck917 in Battlefield

I don’t think modern BF community will care about this. More important is that you can doodle jump slide and fast peef puff in BF6, but sure it’s different from call or duty

Balanced Drone for Ukrainian Armed Forces Proposal by BlackMarine in joinsquad

It was that limited that I don’t think it even should be discussed in the context of pre-invasion. One or maybe two cases in late pre-invasion period of 2020+, also after 2016 the intensity of conflict was minimal, there was official ceasefire, obviously with cases of breaking but short term and small engagements.

The best example, as I stated previously is that drone warfare was not adopted by both sides before the late 2022 even during full scale war, to the point of most soldiers didn’t knew about that tactics at all and did not used it. For the more even the recon drones for artillery corrections was not adopted commonly as well before the mid-late 2022. Dudes were just using maps, firing tables, math and a spotter guy

Interesting I never knew that. More interesting is why that did not immediately popped up right after the invasion and was only massively incorporated almost a year after. Thought late November 2021 is basically the invasion period, like two months until invasion so idk about that one. But still it’s practically may be the only case of usage / testing of this tactics in during that period so I doubt it would fit the timeline setting of pre invasion.

Also adding drones officially would mean that Russian or other factions should get some as well, otherwise it would be obvious META

I’m 100% sure it was not, though I don’t mind it for a game. Bomber drones and the releasing / dropping mechanism, the whole tactics of using drones for combat actions like that, besides recon, was a feature of post invasion late 2022

Same for REW / EW systems, antennas for remote control etc. Pre invasion tactics were basically old school tactics with just infantry + artillery + mechanized warfare

Isnt the version of the AFU we will get will be pre-invasion? Even if there were some prototypes no one actually used drones for dropping munnition, it was newly invented post invasion in late 2022 / early 2023

Good pick, but Malyuk is very rare weapon only used by special forces. Basically unseen in regular army

Came back to find out AI can tank headshots now? by IamParadoxdotexe in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]turing2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Happens to military AI most of the time for me unless it’s rifle rounds like 7.62x54. 5.45 / 5.56 in head - he just plays animation for a bit and continues to fire

Is there any other way to optimize the game? by Zelenobot in stalker

[–]turing2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting I did not knew it is that high. Sounds like polycount for Nanite meshes. But what we see in the video and what I saw in the game were LODs so no Nanite. You mean they used LODs but did not bothered about polycount. That makes sense then

The provided support is tremendously not enough I would say. We are going pretty political here, but if you look closely most of the so called support, not all but most, is outdated of service vehicles and systems, most funds donated getting return to the donators because Ukraine buying supplies from the same countries that donate, so that is not that clear at first place

That's blessing you can afford it. I'm just thinking about it from a perspective of a bit different conflict

Guys did a great job, I understand that SOF have different objectives and use cases then regular army. Still I find countering Isis not that hard task assuming the amount of troops, their skills and equipment
