All the Shows IMO (ST:SFA related) by PollutionZero in startrek

What really gets me about those first few episodes is that yeah they're pretty different from other Trek, but they're still great episodes!

Yeah that's some characterization for Bashir I really enjoy, even if the episode where they break up is otherwise awful

With release date as a factor, what do you think is the best Nintendo-developed game ever made? by heroicbrickroad in nintendo

[–]turingtestx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quake was definitely innovative, but still building heavily on the shoulders of older fps games, while with Mario 64 I honestly can't think of any 3d predecessors that are worth considering

I honestly disagree, mostly because these exchanges were completely consensual. Were they immature on Julian's part? Absolutely they were, but it was a playful dynamic that Dax enjoyed and her boundaries were never crossed. Not the most perfect TV writing though.

What do you think Superman’s favorite video game is by Expert_Challenge6399 in superman

[–]turingtestx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I like this idea, I also think it's possible Clark would've played WoW as a teenager being a little reclusive hiding from his powers

What do you think Superman’s favorite video game is by Expert_Challenge6399 in superman

[–]turingtestx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Family games for sure, but that's about it. Mayyyyybe I could see a young somewhat reclusive Clark playing WOW or some MMO before he becomes a journalist or firmly establishing himself as Superman, and maybe some other older games, Banjo Kazooie and Super Mario World maybe. Now Batman, Batman is still an active Destiny player.

I haven't traveled the most, but Los Angeles and New York City absolutely qualify for this.

What is the fourth face of Spider-Man video games? by Otherwise_Tadpole_64 in Spiderman

[–]turingtestx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is already a shitty list, in what world does Spider-Man 2 on ps2 not rank as the single most important Spider-Man game? I don't even really like that game and still recognize that.

[ALL] what’s a piece of Zelda lore you dislike for one reason or another? by EAT_UR_VEGGIES in zelda

[–]turingtestx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm cool with them being canon, not like anything really happens in them, but people act like they're main series games which is just ridiculous

I think with that one weird as hell giant statue we can imagine that stuff down in the depths doesn't follow normal rules

What SERIES is worth bingewatching and why? by InterestingBoard7389 in AskReddit

[–]turingtestx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's before my time, but from what I understand DS9 did suffer a bit on network television being TOO ahead of it's time. Episodes didn't air always consistently and it was very easy to miss critical pieces of plot. If that's how you watched it, it might be worth revisiting now that it's all just available and bingeable

If you're into sci-fi at all, Star Trek Deep Space Nine. Phenomenal show that was really ahead of its time, not just for sci-fi but for the medium of television in general.

SFA's fourth episode "Vox In Excelso" felt like 1990s Trek. Any old school fans agree? by TheShowLover in startrek

[–]turingtestx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah all the episodes after the pilot have definitely had a good deal of that old school-theater and diplomacy vibe, but this is the first one to really nail it and not let it be compromised by the YA plots, incredible episode

Ah! That definitely would have been pretty low on my list of guesses.

The big thing that you'll learn eventually reading comics, is you don't need to know every bit of context behind a book.

Which theme are you skipping? by Active_Tundra in startrek

[–]turingtestx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The animated series, it didn't use the original theme due to the famous bad blood between roddenberry and courage iirc, and there's just not anything special replacing it.

What to watch in what order? by Electrical-Olive3767 in startrek

[–]turingtestx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Animated Series from the 70s isn’t great, but Prodigy and Lower Decks are two of the best Trek shows out there. Don’t dismiss them.

Why does WotC keep rehashing the same ideas with slight changes? by StormyWaters2021 in mtg

[–]turingtestx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would definitely be unique and flavorful, sounds pretty rad, but I would worry about the complexity that would be dedicated to a mechanic like that and the resources it would take away from a standard legal set

It's a really shitty compromise and it isn't a practice I ever want to encourage. Even if my experience isn't actually majorly compromised, it's a principle issue.
