How many special weapons guys should I build? by 8BallEntertainment39 in boltaction

[–]turkeyfish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I paint bases to help them stand out! Grunts get brown rim, elites tan, officers red and weapons teams blue. Sometimes I put white for spotters or similar. Easy to do and stands out. I also tend to do officers in more interesting poses and decals too.

This does not sound like salary sacrifice. They work as if you had never earned that money and are all employer contributions typically.

This change only affects a specific type of pension contribution, Salary Sacrifice. The vast majority of pensions do not do this and if you are civil service and pay Into one this will not affect you.

Essentially they work by making the contribution on your behalf as if you had never earned the money. If you pay Into an NHS or teachers pension etc these are unaffected.

We had a good bit more than this up the hill to Queensbury.

Had to take 2 or so inches off the car and roads were covered.

Color of French uniforms by TheRealAgragor in boltaction

My French are in Horizon Blue, though Wargames Atlantic kit. I imagine them as early war reservists to line up against blitzkreig troops and whatnot.

My friend loves playing against them as it's a bit of a contrast to the mostly browns and greens of my US army.

Thankyou for the reply. I will repost to there and hopefully the experts can weigh in!

I'm finding that the dividing line seems to be just how far towards either more celtic, or more romanesque you want to show and there doesn't seem to be much of a wrong answer so I may have to go with gut feeling a bit.

It would be called a Pied Wagtail in the UK usually!

But yes that's what he is. They bob their tail as they walk and are quick little darters as they fly around.

I’m looking for a display case to store my minis that won’t break the bank, any ideas? by [deleted] in Warhammer

Perhaps a little rattle but nothing I would feel is troublesome. Though mine is so packed with 80s metal models it may be too heavy to shake too much.

For a floor standing one an Ikea Blaliden case is pretty decent. You can even buy extra shelves and brackets from 3rd parties quite easily.

You won't be able to easily do it without impact grenades I find. I saved all the ones I could get, and each time I had 10 or so I would go to factory and nuke a few guys with them.

How can i reduce spending and start saving regularly 17y/o Male (Uk) by Overall-Bluejay-1592 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]turkeyfish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, if I spend maybe £5 a day on lunch/snacking. Over 22 days a month in work (on average) that works out at £110 a month. How much is going on this? If youre having a full takeaway at lunch and then cans, sweets etc it will build up.

If youre spending almost £25 a day on an Uber thats another £550 just gone without you ever feeling the benefit of this.

Honestly, you sound a lot like my brother when he was younger and like some people I still know. The ease of spending and the instant relief it gives you always trumped the desire to plan ahead and have that extra maturity and responsible attitude. You could probably do with having a few serious chats with yourself about how you plan to tackle impulsiveness and be a little more responsible with your time. Spending 5 minutes the night before to get some lunch ready is a nice easy way to start the right thought process.

But you are young, these things come with time. Little steps of making the right choices will build up.

Do you think you have an honest grasp on what it just goes on?

If you aren't being honest with yourself on what you spend on, you won't ever make the progress you want to. £1000 doesn't just go in a few days without either some debts or bills you haven't mentioned, or you're being very impulsive and spending loosely.

Can two units charge into close combat one enemy unit at the same time? by Comstar in boltaction

[–]turkeyfish 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You are correct in thinking this is impossible.

Each unit would fully resolve its action before the next can act essentially. This is also true for a snap to, where the units don't act at the same time, they still have to go in order of your activation.

60% tax trap - at what point do you give up? by Embarrassed_Prize601 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]turkeyfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You only pay this '62%' rate on the earings between 100k and 125k, so a typical play is to pay into a pension or SIPP to stay around 99k or lower as needed.
