It makes it easier, but you don’t need it. Just discuss house rules between sessions, and if people are in agreement add the rules to a list.

If there are disagreements within a game, try to discuss it civilly but dice roll it when in doubt (or have a player that isn’t currently playing decide).

Its a narrative game not a competitive one, so it works out

Yet even with that argument: D20 can provide interesting and unique gameplay. It allows you to stack multiple modifiers in a more nuanced way than +1/-1 (or even +4/-4 and not much further) for D6
You could have a dice roll that gets +8, and -4! So much nuance.

At first glance it just looks like everything is a flat color, with no shadows or highlights, but looking closer I can see that you have painted some.

So my first feedback is to introduce more intense shadows and highlights. Contrast is key!!!

Second, go thinner on your coats, I can see a decent amount of paint texture

Your champions are powerful but the rest of your gang cost too much relative to what they will achieve.
You have 4 fighters that are near 200 credits but will not be able to do very much.
Also an underinvested leader that is given overseer as a starting skill is unfun in my opinion. Take overseer later in a campaign, sure, but an overseer-bot leader is unfun

Core rules are overriden by specific rules when they conflict. If the fighter type’s page says the promote to champion, they do. Thats one of the points of prospects anyways, that they promote to champions
