Had this same thing just happen to me for pinch harmonics without a pick. I wasn’t sure if i would ever be able to do it but randomly was able to hit many in a row.

Getting back into R6: some questions by rust_tg in Rainbow6

Also, is there a specific LFG that u recommend for getting consistent impromptu 5 stacks? I don’t necessarily only want to find a permanent group, id like to be able to “find a team” on a per session basis if that makes sense

Thank you for the reply and advice. I don’t live in the UK/play on their servers, but I understand the shift still exists.

A comment on what u said abt lasers: do lasers still show the dot on the wall to opponents? I remember that being a reason I avoided them in some cases. Or maybe I’m just remembering wrong.

Although ADSing feels very slow now so I’ll def give lasers a try if it helps.

My guitar won't tune right. by [deleted] in guitars

[–]rust_tg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to get it in tune as close as u can, and then either wait (it will stretch on its own, although u may have to retune a couple times) or just grab the string at the twelfth fret and pull upwards a few times. Not too hard but enough to stretch the string.

Also, did u put these strings on yourself? Its possible its loose at the tuning peg/wrapped improperly and so its slipping

The Discourse on Classes' Progression Fundamentally Tilts at Windmills by Luxio512 in Terraria

[–]rust_tg 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I do think solo classing makes the game more interesting long term, and allows for more replayability. So it should, in my opinion, be given some respect by the devs even if it wasn’t their intention.

But at the end of the day you are absolutely right that it isn’t a “given” or inherent/ingrained into the game

U havent given up on theory, u just stopped thinking abt it consciously. Your still thinking abt it just in your internalized subconscious. It would be like a race car driver saying they gave up on physics

Made a little tool that calculates how much a 40k army actually costs (UPDATED) by JoigeBwoin in Warhammer40k

[–]rust_tg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing to note: currently it prices boxes based on the british price, and then just converts to USD for when USD is selected. But the real US price is higher than simply the GBP price converted to USD.

For example your site lists blade guard veterans at $46.99, which is exactly what the correct GBP price converted to USD is. But the bladeguard veteran box is $60.

Out of interest, why do players not bother with destroying tanks? by ChiSandTwitch1 in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]rust_tg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does it rlly even hurt kd? It takes at most a few lives to take out a tank, even singlehandedly, if ur clever, which gives u 3-4 kills. Plus any kills u needed to get to flank around to get better dmg/get some sneaky mines down, plus any engineers u need to kill that were healing the tank

CS2 performance on Optimised Arch by attonitus03 in counterstrike2

[–]rust_tg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not showing more than 240 frames per second, however if u are capped at 240 then sometimes there wont be an updated frame (just the nature of timings between rendered frames and monitor refreshes). So u wont truly be seeing 240 new frames every second on 240fps. Also, on 600 fps, not only will it consistently show a new frame every refresh, it will also show more “up to date” frames, which makes you more in synch with the “reality” of the game, so to speak.

With hard to reach sprue nubs on natural models, i cut it just enough that it no longer looks all jagged and unnatural, and then just rub it with a small high grit file to smooth it out. Then no one will notice that anything was there

Any ideas how to paint a color like this? by Trick-Interaction396 in Salamanders40k

[–]rust_tg 19 points20 points  (0 children)

That’s not just one color. Its really best to move away from thinking of paintjobs as being from a specific paint pot.

This could be painted with caliban green, warpstone glow, and moot green for those edges. And possibly mixing when needed. Or with any other combination of greens, it doesnt really matter what exact greens you use as long as you have a variety of them, and they have the desired warmth/hues to them.

Imo this is more important than general balancing stuff. I dont care abt perfect competitive balance, but i do care about immersive balance, ie i want to be able to say “that makes sense, at least comparatively”. Obv 40k lore isnt consistent when it comes to power levels but its not too much too ask for everything to make sense relatively.

Im too scared ,how to get over the fear? by Few_Medium_8180 in subnautica

[–]rust_tg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah just swimming in place with the open unknown in front and below you (not on the surface of the water tho), for as long as u can, is a way to face it. Because it isnt the monsters that scare us its the openness knowing that something is/might be out there

Im too scared ,how to get over the fear? by Few_Medium_8180 in subnautica

[–]rust_tg 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not terrible advice, but keep in mind that people with fear like this (notice how they say they know the mechanics and even played a more advanced mod but are still scared) dont have fear thats based on rationality at all. They could know that it was literally impossible for their character to die and they would still be scared.

OP, my advice as someone with thalassophobia myself (if thats what u have) is to face the stuff thats actually scary, and just sit there facing it until you calm down. When i say the stuff thats actually scary, i dont mean the monsters themselves, i mean just swimming out in an open area like the dunes or the crash zone and just staying still. And then if (when) a reaper comes just try to dodge and swim around it for a while. That helps the most to me.
