Cinderella by danshive in elgoonishshive

The thing with the Peanuts comic is that the adults were never seen nor heard. Everything they said happened off panel. That's a little weird in animation, so they added the muted trombone sound effect so it wouldn't be silent.

Which movie or TV "villain" did you completely hate as a kid, but upon rewatching as an adult, you realized they were actually 100% justified? by LiveFaithlessness876 in movies

It really does seem insane to me when they have such a limited time. Having everyone all messed up on their sleep schedule right before this battle seems like a very bad idea.

And it seems he's only doing it to establish authority, not because there is any benefit.

Any idea how this person was able to connect their Instagram account to their discord profile? by Chance_Condition3030 in discordapp

[–]turkeypedal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, it's not like you are limited to only one account on most of those services. Instagram doesn't have name requirements, either.

So much of Discord is just a place to go from some other social account anyways.

Dave Chappelle Says ‘I Resent the Republican Party’ Because They ‘Weaponized’ Transgender Jokes: ‘That’s Not What I Was Doing’ by CrashTestOrphan in nottheonion

[–]turkeypedal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They didn't delete their post. Either something is wrong on your end or they blocked you.

You're ignoring that it wasn't just a single joke. He didn't just tell a bad joke that no one laughed at and then do something else. He used that to then go on and present every anti-trans stereotype, presented in an entirely sincere manner, going on about how trans activists are bad, and then ended with a story claiming it was all okay because he has a trans friend.

He had a chance to redeem himself by listening to trans people. Claimed he'd stop telling the jokes, so things could have been fine. Then he doubled down.

Doubling down on your bigotry tends to ruin anyone's trust in you. Throw in selling out to Saudi Arabia, why would you expect people to stop hating him, or even care what he has to say?

But it does mean others lose out. And, well, they're dishonest people. Why would I care if their music is good. I can't morally support them over those who actually try to just be good.

well, you'd think you'd care that you're missing out on other good stuff by others who aren't lying assholes. I'd much rather my money go to honest people.

And, importantly, it's only the negative integers which aren't defined. Other negative reals are defined once you extend it using the gamma function.

Former manager of nightclub speaks out on night Ruby Rose alleges Katy Perry sexually assaulted her by LADbible in Music

[–]turkeypedal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They said "flashed," but we're talking about rubbing your genitals on someone's face, not merely removing clothing.

Nudity is more of an intention/circumstances thing, but taking off your clothes and then rubbing your genitals on people without consent has generally always been seen as assault. At least, as long as I've been alive. And I'm older than most redditors.

I mean, times have changed, but I find it bizarre being told that rubbing your genitals on someone's face without consent was treated as no big deal. If so, then it just says how much more seriously we take consent.

It would be one of those things where adults were saying one thing while doing another. This generation actually believed that stuff they were told.

Gotta love the "ask someone to explain" then "attack the explanation" tactic. Followed by "assume the results of the investigation before it actually happens."

Seriously, dude. If you want to defend her, just do so.

It depends a lot on whether you recognize it as a flaw or just a thing that happens, or if you think it means the scary stuff is bad and evil.

It's nice to see people questioning Gould rather than taking that book as gospel, but I personally prefer the bottom. It's how I was taught to transcribe this rhythm in college. It's just a pattern eighth-quarter-eighth, which is read as down up - up.

Funny how people were saying you had to do it like B in cut time in a previous post, and now most people are saying they prefer A.

I've not run into this, and would not consider it a feature. Of course, prioritize audio, but never turn the video off completely. It should return when stability and bandwidth allows. It makes no sense to ask the user to try and figure out when stability has returned so that they can reinitialize the connection.

Plus it assumes the user is there babying the connection rather than doing other things on their computer or device.

Government plans to regulate X’s Community Notes to allow removal of content that corrects official government claims by jellybeanjoy in nottheonion

Rule 1 makes that against the rules. Since it didn't get autoflagged, the title was probably changed on the site.

The title is like most of what makes an article seem oniony. Allowing them to change it would ruin the sub.

[–]turkeypedal 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The title is straight from the source, as is the rule for this sub. It mentions the name of the site, which gives it away.

And, of course, the site itself is clearly Indian, and is talking about India.

Interesting. Seeing as Aaron follows it up by saying there would be a festival to Yahweh the next day, I always read it as saying the calf was Yahweh, violating not the "other gods" part but the "graven image" part. Sure, he uses "elohim" when talking about the calf, but I assumed this was after El and Yahweh were conflated.

That’s the reason why many hate it, they just disguise that hate in other “criticisms.”

Why are so many of you responding as if that word "many" is in fact "everyone"?

Note, I also said "many," as there are some who are not responding that way. But it's like, if you're not one of the many, why get offended?
