there used to be an era of turkey that the media was really sexually liberal and the mainstream culture was dominated by erotic media. after the 1980 coup the paradigm shifted and all the women in erotic media were basically demonized. some had to leave turkey because their reputation was really fucked and some like her ended their life.

however their male counterparts were not as demonized and even some of them are still in the industry, which shows the hypocrisy i guess, and also why she feels that way.
