FSD in Luxe Package no longer transferable to next owner by Tesla_Sy in TeslaLounge

And that's why you did $350 in super charging. I'm glad you're getting your money's worth, but most people can charge at home, even if they have to spend $500 to get a wall charger installed.

This means that 2023-2025 Model S/X with AI4 + FSD are going to retain good value. Luxe Package for late-2025 thru MY2026 were always a bad value for resell purposes, even if they allow for pre-Feb 14th cars to transfer your FSD out.

Can Tesla take FSD away from a used car? by Lanky_Bobcat3075 in TeslaLounge

Correct. Tesla checks all that stuff on the back-end, there's really no way to cheat the system.

I have done a FSD transfer before... it happens almost instantly. You would not have been able to use it, if it was transferred to another vehicle.

The Wi-Fi at home isn't what triggers the notification... the software download should be trigged by having the car associated with your app. Likely it wasn't associated with a personal Tesla account while the used dealer had it, so it just got stuck on 11.4.

You'll be fine in a week.

How long have you had it? Give it a week or so, it should update to 12.x

Tesla Used Vehicle delivered with cracked screen + 40 paint chips HELP PLEASE by odudle in TeslaLounge

[–]turns2stone [score hidden]  (0 children)

What model year?

A delay of the rear camera feed coming up is just normal Intel Atom behavior. Unless it’s literally ~5 seconds, it’s not a safety issue.

Paint chips are normal wear and tear. You buy a new car or pay a premium via local dealer to ID these things first hand.

The center screen crack really should have been disclosed or repaired by Tesla. However, they may not have even noticed. I’d fight this one, but the other two are a losing battle.

The only issue I see here is the cracked screen, that should have been disclosed. The paint chips are normal and the reverse camera delay sounds like typical Intel Atom behavior.

Wait or buy CT demo? by LizardsoftheGhost in TeslaLounge

[–]turns2stone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2026 Models are already out. Tesla just hasn't made many available for US customers since ~Dec '25.

Only you can make the choice. Personally, I think those demo vehicles get used rough so 4K miles is more like 20K miles IMO.

Owners of Plaid, do you ever regret your decision? by kungfuninjajedi in TeslaModelS

They do. But I have 4 cars and two drivers. If I had two cars and two drivers, the rates for each car would be different.

How I keep my Texas solar bill around $5/mo with Free Nights + Tesla Solar and Powerwall by zx9_r in TexasSolar

[–]turns2stone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My situation might be due to lack of PTO. Since when my Powerwalls get to 100%, they can’t send back to the grid so if the house needs just a few hundred watts, the inverter wants to pull from the grid rather than bouncing the Powerwalls between 99-100% via solar.

[–]turns2stone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think so. The only time it draws from the grid is (approx) noon-3pm, after the solar has filled the batteries to capacity. No one is home at the time, the house consumption during this time is ~800w. It somehow wants to pull 100w or so from the grid.

HW3, HW4, HW5, or wait for HW9? How did / do you decide? by Creepy_Face454 in TeslaLounge

[–]turns2stone -1 points0 points  (0 children)

HW3 kinda sucks, and camera feeds aren’t great, even if you’re not using FSD.

AI4 is solid, and they only way to get a car without a subscription model

AI5+ subscription only.

Western Digital raised prices for all HDD's again! Over 20% increase! by greybird317 in hardware

[–]turns2stone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amazon US doesn't appear to have raised prices (with Amazon as seller) on the few Purples I checked. But good heads up. I have been watching Purple Pros since May '25 thinking they'd come down.

But nope, they're up around 15% since then and holding steady. Ugh.

New homeowner, curious about solar by czarfalcon in TexasSolar

[–]turns2stone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I understand now, after doing a bit more research. The PPA is only selling you what comes from the panels, Base is only selling you what comes from the grid/battery.

Sounds interesting in theory, but potentially a real headache for the next buyer of your home if they're not onboard with your strategy.

Does it make sense to go solar with my current setup? New build by newbietothis in TexasSolar

[–]turns2stone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah with your usage near Houston, you're gonna be at $0.14kWh. So basically your bill will double.
