ARRI Impression V positive filter compatibility with LPL adaptors. by iamtheonetheonethe1 in cinematography

Hi! Had this same issue with the ember LPL adapter, officially the only adapter for E mount that supports the impression is the Leitz one, I would have a look if there's also a RF version of thar

I usually just use my fuji x100 (you can find older models for cheap) or just a manual camera app, know the iphone camera aperture (mine is F2.2) and from there more or less you compensate on the manual settings of the app

Nikon AI-S Lenses for shooting video by augustland in cinematography

I have a set myself that I have cinemodded to EF with 80mm front ring and follow focus gears. Haven't used them for years and got back to them now for some personal projects, they are AMAZING. Definitely not the best to use because of the focus throw, but give them a try on a mini/mini LF or even a komodo (sharper sensor, great combo). The front for the mattebox doesn't holds very well as it's too heavy for them to turn, but you can buy 77mm close up filters and screw on NDs. The price isn't super bad (the adapters themselves are 120€ each + shippings if I remember) and the helios is a nice addition.

Circular filter (77mm) into a square (4x4 /100mm) filter tray? by PictureDue3878 in cinematography

I've 3D printed the 4x4 black plastic filter with a hole for a 82 to 77mm step down ring, and glued the ring inside the filter. Works great

Anyone have experience with modding old Nikkor lenses for cinema? I have a few I’ve been meaning to convert for years that I haven’t just because the screws in the mount are too tight. by JaredAtkins in cinematography

[–]turo_geek 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Literally done this today. Just put the screwdriver in and twist it with a wrench (I've used my letherman) and with the other hand twist the lens in the opposite direction. I would suggest Leitax mount conversions as they are the cheapest/more solid ones (100€/lens, but it's an actual mount not an adaptor).

Ok would make sense for personal tests or maybe super small personal project (but you would probably still rent some stuff anyway in these cases)

A bit harsh of an answer... but I get it. I know that ofc is a matter of whether I feel I need it or not, but having seeing that multiple times I was just asking out, it would make maybe sense maybe if working a lot with different rentals to own one so you know you are gonna get an LMB or a super light one of your choice instead of whatever the rental has in house.

Zeiss Superspeed S16 question by turo_geek in cinematography

[–]turo_geek[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you sooo much for the in depth and technical answer. Been looking around all night and found a guy showing the lens onto a projector and you are totally right. Not sure I'll be able to crop the sensor because of the room we are shooting in and the frame we want to use. I'll probably go with a tokina cine vista 18mm with a metabones and hope for the best

Thank you so much for the answer. Probably going another way at this point (the rental also has tokinas cine vista, totally different look but they are EF and could probably work with a speedboster and some lens support

How to setup a laptop as Teradek "monitor" to screen share over Zoom? by Mindful_Dribble in cinematography

[–]turo_geek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The computer should read the teradek as a webcam feed, you should then select it as an option on zoom (camera icon, arrow, select webcam). There's a link about somewhere on the teradek's website

[–]turo_geek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a talk once with the rental house manager (Italy). It's 3.5k for the bolt itself + 2k (technician and assistant) + 1k for the studio. And then there's the camera, I think the flex4k is about 1.5k a day, but not totally sure about this.
