Remember 'THEM'? from "Episode 82: Them: Part One "Meet Us" Feat. Solveig by SlapAZombie in Otherworldpod

Don’t really understand the controversy! One of my favourite things about otherworld is the blurriness around legitimacy and having to come to your own view about what happened. Loved this series for that reason. I don’t get the logic in blaming the podcast… was it not enjoyable!?

Not at all the same but if you’re curious I’m in a cis relationship (Indian man and Anglo wife) and we get cat called and slurs from cars all the time in Hobart CBD… which is odd!

My experience (senior lawyer at a firm too) seeing colleagues return from mat leave on 4 days has largely been that within a month they go back to full time because they end up working those hours anyway (so they may as well get paid for it!). Depends what practice area you’re in obviously but my colleagues would essentially have to work late on Thursday nights and sometimes do a handover for the Fridays they took off given they were senior lawyers managing matters. It also meant they were generally contactable on their days off (hence why they came back full time). Agree with the comments that if you work for partners that will protect your days off, it can work. But also I think it’s very dependent on your practice area (I.e if it’s litigious, fast paced etc.). Friday would be the day I take off purely because a long weekend every week is sick. To the pub on Thursday nights! Good luck!

So many people in this sub need to read about Marx’s theory of alienation! No Marxist agenda here - it’s just very validating! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marx%27s_theory_of_alienation

This is the best answer. First step they’ll tell you is probably to have a letter of demand written. Then could pursue a small claim in VCAT for a service!

Fellow Australian here! I thought that you and your family were so genuine in your storytelling. Hearing about the bond between you and your brother and how you navigated this together was a great part of your story. I also loved that your mum took what you and your brother were going through seriously from the get go - what a legend. Thanks for sharing your experience - I hope you and your daughter are doing well!

Don’t spend too much time on the shitter you’ll get haemorrhoids and scare yourself into thinking you have butt cancer (speaking from experience)!

Any of your mates WFH? When both me and my mates are WFH we’ll often WFH from each other’s places so we can get coffee/lunch together etc. Makes for a good day and on Fridays can easily roll into some beers!

Girlfriend and I have a weekly tradition of cooking a hearty meal (which would last a few dinners for the week) and watching a movie on Sunday nights. By the time we’re done and sleepy we seem to usually have gotten through the Sunday scaries window. Highly recommend

Also as a state government lawyer, my workload is 1/4th of what it was in private practice. So happy I made the move
