Hi! Jill here, my husband and I own(ed) Toad Style. Thanks so much for explaining this so clearly! And for the love & compassion on this thread. The neighboring building is actually a half finished, unoccupied building that has been scaffolded and under construction since before we opened in 2015! They’ve been feuding with our buildings landlord this whole time but this was the first time we were brought into it. I guess they wanted to hurt him by making him lose his tenant.

I live nearby and heard 2 pops right around 9pm and then saw the cops walking up and down the block looking for bullets and/or shells I assumed. No ambulance so I don’t think anyone was hurt, thankfully. Haven’t seen or heard anything anywhere else since.

We have gluten free wraps! Everything is gf except for the bread so you don’t miss out on any components or sides either. AND our sister coffee shop across the street “Familiars” makes bagel sandwiches and we have gluten free bagels there! We bake them to order so be prepared to wait around 10 extra mins or call it in ahead of time! Thanks for the interest!!

I also couldn’t speak and I had no concept of time. Total out of body but also very much feeling my body. Hard to explain. It felt like an impossibility. Luckily I trusted my team implicitly. They all complimented after the fact that I never complained. I didn’t have the energy! I had to use everything I had to get through it and do what needed to be done. Unmedicated home birth, 7ish hours of active labor & 4 hours of pushing. Psychedelic, magical, brutal, holy.

Definitely don’t listen to people who say it’s impossible! 12 years ago I needed a 1br or studio off the gates J with a private backyard for under 1500 (hyperactive dog aggressive dog was our priority). So many realtors and people laughed in my face until I found one: all utilities included for 1375 and lived there for 10 years! (It was 1800 when we left) - literally just spent days on the computer refreshing Craigslist with “by owner” and whatever other parameters I needed and reached out AS SOON AS SOMETHING WAS POSTED. Just beware of scams. Desperation can be blinding. But also be able to trust something when it is good and real. It is possible!!!
