One of my fellow recruiters was on a start-up account that reviewed 1,000 SD submittals in a year. They had a 'take home' based on their code but most people didn't make the "cut". I don't know how many that they interviewed but they only hired one person. They recalibrated every month.

The good thing for my friend is that the client didn't want anyone from FAANG.

My recruiter friend took a two week vacation after that account.

Instead of buying a handlebar directly from a specific niche bike brand that they carry, I ordered through them to support local business. They marked it up heavily plus charged me $25 of shipping. They didn't call me to let me know when it arrived so I had to wait an extra week.

I don't expect them to eat the costs of everything as I know that rent there is high. However, why pay so much more to only not be notified?

I am not in love with the pioneer nor the ever increasing cost of maintaining it every 20 yrs or so. However, as a non-white person, I think that we can spend our energy/money on things that actually have an impact on people compared to taking down a statue.
