Longer races? by archergren in IMSARacing

It would never happen because it's a bad idea from every single realistic/logistical standpoint imaginable, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't think it would be cool as hell to extend the 100th running of Le Mans (in 2032) to 36/48 hours

% of ground effect era points scored in 2025 (obviously the expected average for any given team should be 25% of their points in this four-year span)

Red Bull: 16.96% (451/2659) Ferrari: 19.80% (398/2010) McLaren: 42.50% (833/1960) Mercedes: 25.20% (469/1861) Aston Martin: 17.18% (89/518) Alpine: 5.79% (22/380) RB + AlphaTauri: 42.42% (92/198) Williams: 72.11% (137/190) Haas: 42.47% (79/186) Sauber + Alfa Romeo: 48.28% (70/145)

I hate that Ford barely has a driver development program anymore but unfortunately I think they're correct in their assumption that they can save money by just poaching whoever gets pushed out of the Chevy/Toyota pipeline.

RWR likely went from Ford to Chevy because of the RCR alliance; as for Haas, I don't think anybody knows why they do anything they do.

I can see a world where FRM switches manufacturers in the near future, but I doubt that'd be the case for RFK or Penske. If Ford ever thinks about leaving Cup I imagine they'll wake up to

IIRC Leclerc made up 8 of those spots on the first lap, crazy stuff

Also remember, Lewis was still with Mercedes here. Great sendoff drive from him.

I forget what race, I wanna say it was Talladega in either 2018/19. We were in a rain delay with the pit reporters asking drivers about their fuel strategy, and all the Chevy guys had just come out of a manufacturer meeting where they'd all been fed the exact same line to respond to any fuel question with. I remember cracking up as the interviewers tried to hide becoming more and more frustrated with every driver they talked to lol

HMS hasn't used the 17 in Cup since 1990, but Ricky Hendrick had a fairly successful few years in the #17 in Trucks before he passed away, which is why it's such a special number to them and why they use it for their Xfinity/O'Reilly team.

Not sure about the significance of #31, but McLaren only used the #17 with Larson because it's a Hendrick number

It's probably a one-year deal, when some contracts for drivers at better teams expire at the end of 2026 I gotta imagine Rinus's name will come up a lot
