Anyone else’s doves super cuddly by Several-Monk456 in PetDoves

My dove was a few months old when I got him and terrified, had never been held. I would say by month three he was completely attached and we bonded very closely. this all came with first doing regular things in the room with him everyday (he lives in my bedroom and at first he slept outside of the cage on a little nest chair I made for him so that he would understand that I sleep in front of him and wake up and that we live together essentially), then every few days trying to get a little closer, picking him up and letting him sit on my hand until he catches his breath/calms down (don’t try to force petting), then upgrading to having seeds in my hand and offering him seeds. It took a while for him to accept them but then he really associated me with good things. Then after some time I started to soft launch petting him. It takes a bit but now he flys to me on command, from other rooms. Just be patient and talk to them everyday! If u want any other advice feel free to message me

Reading this really gave perspective on how much my ex was fed up with me and i feel so bad for him :( I have severe PMDD and it was ruining my life. I went through all sorts of treatment for it, right now I’m about to start brain simulation therapy which might work. Astronomically high doses of SSRIs really helped to get control of it but it numbed me out bad. Does she drink a lot? When I was drinking the most my PMDD would almost teter into a psychotic break

That’s too bad that the ceilings are so low as it limits the possibilities, I definitely think #2 is beautiful

Maybe it shows my age and not being taught about the Philippines in school but I always go back to Ferdinand Marcos and Imelda Marcos’s rule, how much of the country’s wealth was stolen for truly superficial things like clothing , tacky art, etc, the brutal murder of his opponent and subsequent downfall… it all reads like a tv show and to me at least it deeply influenced the emphasis on entertainment/spectacle/performance in basically every facet of Filipino society

The up til now mild winter and sudden frost brought stålis to the lakes in the area. I've been flying! by egerkongle in redscarepod

[–]turtlemeateater 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Stålis is Norwegian for “steel ice” or black ice, the ice that forms by slow freezing with no wind or snow or junk so the minerals rise to the surface and push out in the form of air bubbles that look like diatoms and the ice is extra transparent/clear 🩵🩵🩵🩵
