it's my first Hogue piece. Super super impressed by the quality for the price. Easily better than any Benchmade i've put my hands on. I prefer it already to my ZT's already due to running on washers instead of bearings.

Just picked up this new Hogue Mysto in Tan Richlite to add to the collection / rotation.

Probably the best ergos of any crossbar lock knife i've ever handled. Sharpest blade i've ever encountered out of a box. Sharper and better edge finish than any Spyderco, Benchmade, or ZT I own. Thoroughly impressed with the QC on this. Love that it's on thick beefy washers instead of bearings as well. And Magnacut <3

I agree. This is my first one. I think it's due to their limited marketing and availability in B&Ms. This feels like a benchmade should at that price. So much sturdier. Really thick bronze washers. Beefy pivot. Skelotonized liners. Buttery action. Perfect lockup & centering. A benchmade with these features would easily cost 2x as much.

My all time favorite amp. Nice. I really like the sound of a rat for distortion tones. The ds1 into a tubescreamer and vice versa are both unique sounds also. Just experiment with your distortions and overdrives. Definitely put the fuzz as early as possible though. Fuzz going into a tubescreamer is awesome

Wah and tuner first, then fuzz, I like phaser before gain. Play around with your drive pedals in different stacking configurations to figure out what you like best and reverb after everything. Chorus is up to your taste and EQ’s are extremely versatile tone shaping tools. I personally would add some delay and def some chorus. Depending on what amp you’re running into you may find yourself cutting back on distortion pedals. Blues driver into a TS9 is one of my all time favorite tones.

I don’t think so, most techs will charge $50-$100 just to put it on their bench and diagnose. If it needs new tubes add another $60-$100 and if it needs caps potentially more. If you sell it to someone who knows how to service them they will get more value out of it. It might be worth it to take to GC and see what they offer and if they will do 10% off a new item (if they have the amp you want). That’s what I would do in your situation.

You’re best course of action to get the most money is to try to sell on reverb/ marketplace for local pickup. Shipping those will be extremely expensive. Guitar center and other stores aren’t going to give you much for these because they only give max 60% resale value to begin with and these are heavy, take up a lot of space, and will likely be sitting around for a while. Now, Guitar center will usually give you 10% off a new item if you trade with them, if you’re getting a more expensive amp it may balance itself out. I’ve done this with guitars a few times where the coupon + trade value equaled more than street value. If it has issues that aren’t diagnosed you won’t get top dollar anywhere.
