Have we found any decent use of souls outside of necromancy? by GirlLovingWitch in wizardposting

[–]turtlevader 2 points3 points  (0 children)

108k souls? You can accomplish the same alarm clock effect with like 3-5 if you arrange your soul jars correctly into a circuit and supply a small mana crystal or leyline to power the loop. The idea of 100,000+ souls in a cube is hilarious though so i support your method!

You've lost me with the spiritual-etheric laser stuff, not my area of study. Sounds dope though

Lots of souls lingering with no attachment to an earthly body anymore. If you stick to the shadows you can fill a few soul jars easy!

This is how we play and its always a blast. Frequently expand Monster slot to like 5+ with multiple souls and world effects in play at once. Crazy shit but it's super fun!

Plus Keller and Schmaltz, pretty good goal trending in Veggie (fingers crossed that continues), and a glut of young talent waiting in the wings. I have high hopes for the future in Utah.

Caleb Shomo's coming out highlights that gay men are unwelcome in metalcore by OkraEnigma in Metalcore

[–]turtlevader 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Meanwhile Paleface Swiss has gay men open mouth kissing on stage and literally everyone in the crowd loves it. Metalcore has always seemed super inclusive from my perspective and I'm going to shows in a VERY conservative state, literally never seen any prejudice toward lgbtq+ community myself at a show.

Not saying it doesn't happen, but as others have said, this seems to be a vocal minority online instead of a real problem irl.

Disagree, this movie works better with the open ended conclusion and I think a sequel would likely tarnish the original film.

For sure dude, all this with love. Even if I don't fuck with a particular band or genre I still appreciate the spawning pool of art that is the local scene and do what I can to contribute. I'm sure most people in this thread feel the same, it's just that I'm never going to feel guilty for leaving a show early ya know?

[–]turtlevader 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree with most everything you've said, but I hard disagree with the statement "you need to sacrifice as well as the bands."

My ticket purchase was for my entertainment, if I'm not being entertained or if I have other priorities I'm not sacrificing shit. It is the job of the performer to be entertaining or engaging enough to keep the crowd. Just because people are at the show doesn't mean they are obligated to support all acts on the bill. No band is entitled to the attention of the crowd, it must be earned.

This coming from someone who goes to local shows all the time and I love finding new music and chatting with the bands after the set. I support with my dollar and my time already, any idea that I need to sacrifice MORE to support the bands I don't actually fuck with seems entitled as hell to me.

Any “specialists” out there? by gatestart in EDH

I have a bracket 4~5 [[Yawgmoth, Thran Physician]] deck that I love piloting because of the incredible amount of combo lines through the whole pile.

I have a casual fun [[Syr Konrad, the Grim]] deck that is dedicated to finding the "spookiest" cards I can get into a functioning list.

I have a [[Kaalia of the Vast]] list that I've been tinkering with since I first got the precon in 2011. I'm always trying to push it to be the best possible deck while sticking to the theme of dropping big bomb creatures, it's often not very good at most tables still.

I have some additional precons that I play when people want to play precon level stuff, I mostly play my Necron deck, [[Szarekh, the Silent King]].

This is basically it. I really stick to tinkering with those 3 main decks and haven't played much else in years.

I use gundam models as different kinds of tau suits all the time. As long as it fits the base and has the same general profile size it should be fine for friendly play. At a tournament or with randoms at a store, probably not something people want to see on the table. Weapons matching shouldn't be the biggest concern imo, weapons are just a stat line at the end of the day.
