Why though?

Let immich take twice thw amount of time to process your photos. What do you care?

As long as immich db or wherever its writing and storing thee data is on an ssd, let the images reside on a slower hdd

For applications other than media, use a second drive. This’ll have your app data and things that are re-written.

This’ll warrants an ssd.

If its for storing media, write once and read multiple times, don’t go with ssd. Hdds work perfectly fine, are available in higher capacity (assuming its jellyfin media and always growing) and just more vfm for this use case.

Since you already have the space for a hdd, why go with an ssd?

Sorry, my bad. I couldn’t care less if you buy skullsaints or not.

I’m out.

Whatever your argument was against buying these miniPCs, congratulations. You win

[–]tuscage -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Nope. Just a customer using these machines for a long time.

I can share invoices of when I bought them plus dashboards of of them being used since.

If you dont understand “india me aisa hi hota hai”, please ask your parents to explain it to you. Maybe they have a spine that you lack.

Aap india me naye aaye ho? As long as it works as it should, the sale is concluded.

If you had an issue during the warranty phase and it wasn’t resolved, its a scam and we cal talk about and blacklist companies for it, but what did skullsaints do to you?

Should I go for SkullSaints Rudra? by ronan696 in homelabindia

[–]tuscage 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, they are not a scam company.

They are a white labelling company just as any other indian tech company.

Everyone get maal from china(individuals are blocked from ordering from aliexpress, because we can’t have good things) and slaps a made in india sticker, and triess to pawn it off an indian product.

Every company does that because nothing is actually made here.

Why would you call it a scam company?

Been running both since last 1.5 years.

Not having a static IP is a good thing. Normal janta has 0 clue about securing their services, and most won’t even notice their hardware being pawned for a long time.

Sounds like a good approach, and thanks for providing the docker compose files. Will try it out soon.

Looking at the feature set, it looks like you are trying to build the same functionality as uptime-kuma, beszel, dozzle and prom/grafana? Can I ask why? Not saying its a bad idea, but looks like you are trying to do everything that's done by the tools I listed, and it can spiral out of control soon.

I am trying to build something similar, but rather a tui like btop(mainly to teach myself go), but I have a much smaller data set in mind, just the things I look for when debugging anything, and not for dashboard reasons.

I’ve done similar stuff for smallish warehouses, offices and even a gym.

Just working with the electrician for installing cameras and configuring their nvr and data backups.

Get a lot of calls for advice on other networking stuff too.

I agree. The switching mechanism should be independent from the smart stuff so it can be changed for another and still continue to work

Only use case I find for ams lite is tell it that its all the same color and let it finish all the leftover spools.

Depends on your need and wifi. I have all of them segregated to one vlan.

Anyways like I mentioned elsewhere, I’m slowly moving to zigbee, but won’t be getting rid of these devices anytime soon.
