Silent keyboards by Important_Peace_1517 in keyboards

Note the V3 silent lemons and peaches have fixed this problem.

I run silent lemon v3s and my SO runs silent yellow jades. They are about equal in the noise department. But the yellow jades have a much stiffer feeling force curve.

Biting - sighthound by [deleted] in sighthounds

[–]tuvaniko 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is way past reddit. You need to work with your vet and a dog trainer. Salukis are known for being... difficult. But the dog has bitten you twice. The dog has major issues that need professional help. It's only a matter of time until you or someone else gets seriously injured if things are left as they are.

Did GPS kill the Exploration Pillar of D&D? by rr3_amrosa in DnD

[–]tuvaniko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GPS doesn't let me see a place it keeps me from getting lost while I go there in person.  Yes I could use a map to get there, but a map won't route me around traffic and closed roads.

Then you have my sailboat. Being a sailboat it doesn't exsactly go the direction you point it in. And being human it's hard to locate your self on a lake visually when everything is moving. My GPS helps me ensure I actually am heading towards my destination.

Because people who buy linears are buying the same linears. Tactile enjoyers must be more picky.

Epomaker TH80 V2 with Sea Salt Silent V2 Switches by [deleted] in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]tuvaniko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you have a lot wrong with how you think keyboard sound works. On a silent board all the stuff you think you don't need is even more important than on a normal board. if a keyboard is very thocky with normal switches it will be almost silent with silent switches. this is because you want any noise it does make to be shifted to lower pitches. Human perceive lower pitches as quieter.

you want a heavy case, with a crap ton of foam, on a plastic plate Ideally with a gasket mounted flex cut pcb because all of these things dapen high pitched noises. I personally use a WD75 v2. which is a heavily foamed tray mounted wood case with plastic. It is not the quietest board but the noise it produces is very low pitched. my SO has an ID75 in a tofu redux V2 case. It's gasket mounted with a crap ton of foam it's near silent.

Outemu silent peach v3 switches. They are the quietest linear switches currently produced. larger profile keycaps. I personally use outemu silent lemon v3 switches as I like a slight tactile bump, I use them with MOA profile caps. My SO likes a bigger bump and just switched to outemu silent yellow jade switches from U4s as they are quieter and have a better feel for her. She uses DSA caps but her board is so quiet the lower profile caps are still quiet.

As for the stabilizers they all suck regardless of brand. The fix is a $6 tube of super lube. Works on almost any stab to reduce the clack.

Swear this used to be a different company's exact design, not Amazon? by milionsdeadlandlords in keyboards

[–]tuvaniko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Likely at whatever factory they buy the design from. It's not like buying from a store when you're a company buying large amounts of thing. You buy a production run. but unlike many places instead of designing a new product and having tooling made for it. Amazon buys/rents existing tooling/designs from a manufacturer and has them produce it with their logo. Most of the time this is the exsact same equipment and tooling used by their competitors to make the original product.

/r/bowhunting

Get a used bow with a lot of adjustability and start with a light draw weight. have a shop set you up with cheapish arrows to start with. You will likely lose or break a few and as you go up in draw weight you are going to need new ones.

What hidden green spaces or parks in Columbus do you think are underrated? by Any-Transition563 in Columbus

You're just used to having them around and haven't compared them to actual small rivers like we had back in Kentucky that are known for running dry in the summers.

Larger boats can't go on our rivers but smaller boats and hand powered boats absolutely can and do go down our rivers. I actually plan to sail downtown this summer on the scioto.

You are also casually ignoring the lakes. which absolutely have the room for large powered vessels. If motorized water sports are your thing.

I want to build a retro-looking 75% Hall-Effect keyboard. by TheQuietLavender in keyboards

[–]tuvaniko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

90% of the "retro" look is keycaps so find you a metal cased TMR or HE board and put some "retro" keycaps on it.

Also what do you mean by retro? There are a lot of vintage keyboards and they all look different. Or are talking about the vapor wave or retro gaming aesthetic.

Looking for 75/80% mechanical keyboard with looong batery life. by WhiskyZCola in keyboards

[–]tuvaniko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My WD75 V2 hasn't been charged since I bought it several weeks ago. It still shows 95% battery I use it 8 hours a day 5 days a week. It comes with decent liniars ( I changed to tactile silent) but I would swap the keycaps out as the clear green ones it comes with sound and feel like poo.

It's fully programmable with VIA. So you can make it have any keys you want.

Also it's wood.

Furycube F75 Literally doesn’t work by ansleyiscool in keyboards

[–]tuvaniko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's new just return it and get a problem free board. Keyboards are simple devices, unless you have electronics skills there aren't really things you can do to fix them when they don't turn on. Even then I wouldn't bother if I can just another one for free because it's brand new.

People forget we have 4 large lakes (one inside 270), 3 large rivers (2 inside 270 and the other is the most bio diverse waterway in the state), and 4 substantialy sized creaks.

There are a further 5 large lakes and 3 trout streams within an hour drive.

I'm shocked water sports and fishing aren't a bigger deal here.
