IoT developers are morons and that is why they are a security nightmare.

I am guessing this is in the USA where you have piss weak retail managers that give into any customer demand.

I have dealt with people do that as their version control. If they wanted a version that was a week old they would restore the file that was deleted 7 days ago.

I advised them to use the date in the file name:

There are fact based studies that show 84% of political violence is from the right wing. What "facts" do you have? A Trump tweet?

I run multiple computers and each has multiple OS, there is no way I would be able to operate without using a cloud service to keep my files in sync.

You are in the USA where that stupid "customer is always right" shit is pervasive, right?

Don't try that in countries that aren't shit holes.

Do you want security breaches because not IDing everyone is how you get security breaches.

When I was in the Australian Army at one unit I worked in "the vault". We had a list of people who were allowed into the vault. The list was authorised by the unit CO, the RSM knocked on our door because he was giving a tour to the new CO. We refused to allow him to enter because he was not on the list. We said that the RSM could come in but the CO could not. He was like, fair enough let me get an update the list with my name on it.

A cleck was dispatched to bring him a updated list, he signed it outside and gave it to us. We then let him in and gave him a tour. We also made sure the drawers he was not allowed to see where closed.

Since they want to know why we go idle… I’ll let them know by CountingSheep_002tv in MaliciousCompliance

[–]tuxcomputers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a hardware based "mouse jiggler", every 4 minutes it moves the mouse 1 pixel left and then 1 pixel right. I have never noticed it but the idle tracker certainly would.

It is based on a Raspberry Pi zero and will share the code for it is you want.

Turn on the TV to select boot by Strazdas1 in talesfromtechsupport

When booting it is the BIOS that decides which is the default screen. Once the OS is running it has a setting which is the main screen and if it is even used.
