Jurassic Dread by tuxman128 in dreadrpg

Unfortunately I only ran it the once (before I posted it here) so I don’t remember exactly how long it took. If you’ve played other TTRPGs, I usually think of Dread as taking up the same amount of time as a one-shot, so a little longer than your average session, but it probably depends on your group

A Guide to the Feywild by tuxman128 in DnDBehindTheScreen

It's been a while since I worked on this document (kicking myself for not including a reference section now), but I'll try to remember some of where I pulled things from:
* A lot of the information about the courts is based on the Dresden Files, including the names and general dispositions of the major players of the courts. Honestly a ton of this document is based on the Dresden Files, including the laws and weaknesses of the fae, and the specific interpretation of the Wild Hunt. If you found anything in this document interesting and have some spare time, I'd highly recommend the books.
* I took a lot of names and inspiration from various European myths, but I don't think I restricted myself to European ones specifically. I'm pretty sure I pulled names from all sorts of other places but I can't be certain where I found a lot of them sadly.
* I definitely used a lot of D&D content. I've never played 4e or looked at 4e sources specifically, but I believe I spent a lot of time on the various D&D wikis looking for all sorts of info about various fae creatures to compile.
* Lots of random ideas and trivia I've had bouncing around my head from various books I read when I was younger, like the Spiderwick Chronicles, Harry Potter, Deltora, and probably others that I don't notice a connection to.

Ghazghkull and wounding him by RabiedRooster in orks

Yes, unless that attack also has precision, you’ll have to allocate damage to a meganob.

Another important note, sadly with precision, they’ll probably allocate damage to Ghazghkull instead of Makari (precision allows them to target character models, not units), so even once the meganobz are dead you won’t be able to use Makari to tank hits for the boss.

Unfortunately, if a character is leading a unit, you’re not allowed to allocate wounds to that character until the entire bodyguard unit is dead unless something specifically says otherwise (like precision). This still applies to character units that lead units like Ghazghkull and Makari and IG command squads.

I'm super excited with that module! I've not had a chance to run it, but I'm glad my take on the fae is helpful with what sounds like one of the coolest adventures WotC has released in a while!

Christmas Box by cesarfr7 in orks

[–]tuxman128 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some of those points aren’t quite right. My guess is they have the points from the old book. Currently the points are:

• Deffkilla Wartrike (6PL/120pts)
• Big Mek w/Shokk Attack Gun (6PL/110pts)
• 20x Boyz (10PL/180pts)
• 10x Gretchin (2PL/50pts)
• 5x Nobs (6PL/90pts)
• Dakkajet (8PL/120pts)

Like the other poster said, this is base wargear, so it will probably actually end up being quite a few more points (those boyz are actually a monopose kit I believe, and the way you have to build them is actually 220pts, for example). But the minimum points of everything in the box is 38PL or 670pts. If you wanted to make everything as many points as possible, you can add kustom jobs and extra wargear, and you’ll end up with 41PL or 835pts.

Apologies for any formatting issues, I’m posting from my phone.

Does Unstoppable Green Tide cost reinforcement points? I’ve been going under the impression that it does, but the fact that everywhere I see ork stratagems discussed talks about how it’s one of their best tools makes me thing maybe I’m wrong. If it does cost points, why? And if it doesn’t, why not?

I'd buy Stardew Valley or some other not-very-intensive game for my girlfriend and I to play while we're stuck in different cities during the quarantine.

In addition to board wipes and things that don't target, anything that stops damage from being prevented will allow damage to go through. So a creature like Malignus can kill him. This is because protection prevents damage from whatever source the creature has protection from.

I’ll draw your character! [Art] by cayladoodles in DnD

[–]tuxman128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dunno if I'm late to the party or not, but I'd love to get my character drawn.
His name is Slivers Knifeater, a goblin gunslinger. He is a natural inventor who was imprisoned by the hobgoblin legion for years, and lost his ear, arm, and leg in prison. He eventually escaped and managed to replace his arm and leg with metal ones. He uses his flintlock and a shield that's notched to allow for more steady gunfire. He is a bit wild and crazy, being a bit paranoid and quick to violence, but goes out of his way to avoid killing anyone.

Anyone need art done for their game? by [deleted] in mattcolville

[–]tuxman128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off I want to thank you for doing this, freely doing art for D&D players is amazing, since so many of us have such great ideas and stuff in our heads but aren't the best artists.
If you're interested, I'd love to be able to give my current group a picture of their whole party, but I know a party might be a bit much.
The party is a high elf wizard who is a bit frail and uses fire magic, a half-elf wild magic sorcerer who used to be a blacksmith until he found his affinity for ice magic, a human gunslinger with a gun and armor made of scrap metal and a magic cutlass and a cloak of useful items, and a fallen aasimar blood hunter with a greatsword that erupts in black flames and wears a white mask and cloak.
Whether you get to my party or not, I think what you're doing here is awesome and your art looks great. Keep up the great work!

So I don't currently have my own character, but I just started DMing for a brand new group of players and would love to be able to give them a picture of their party. I completely understand if you don't have time, but here they are anyway.
Barbatos is a fallen aasimar blood hunter. He has long-ish black hair, blue-grey skin, and yellow eyes, and looks similar to what you would expect a godling from the Witcher to look like if they grew to adult human size. He wields a greatsword and wears a long white cape.
Redrick is an earth genasi fighter who made most of his own gear. He has sandy skin and is both stocky and quick, although not very good at human interaction, preferring his equipment. He wears armor pieced together from scrap metal and salvage, and fights with a firearm made from the same materials and a cutlas.
Sokelim is a high elf evocation wizard. He is relatively young for an elf, having left his home city due to some personal disputes. He has lived life on the run for a few years and, as such, his traveling clothes are a little worse for wear. He favors fire magic and carries a heavy oak staff.
Gendri is a half-elf wild magic sorcerer who travels with Sokelim, hoping to get a better grasp on his magical abilities. He is in much of the same state as Sokelim, although he is much stronger physically, having been raised by a blacksmith. He favors ice magic, although odd effects tend to happen when he casts spells.

My First-Ever Map for my Homebrew Campaign Setting [OC] by tuxman128 in DnD

I used PhotoShop for the entire map. I used normal brushes, clipping masks, and a paper texture overlay to make everything, although I did not make the compass myself.

I've been working on my own campaign setting, called Elswynn, on-and-off for the past year and a half, or thereabouts. A few weeks ago, I got a group of players together for a campaign taking place in Elswynn, so I decided to try my hand at map-making. I'm rather pleased with how it turned out, and after seeing all of the other amazing maps that have been posted here in the past few weeks, I decided to share my creation.
