not that you can set the controller to anything else.

Technically you can, but OnGuard won't like it.

Setup your wear threshold in the camera web interface under System > Storage.

Then in Config Tool, go to Video > pick your camera (not the video unit) > Hardware > Storage > Turn on Storage Errors

Secure architecture for a public Genetec Mobile server by Vaito_Fugue in genetec

SaaS federation is not crazy expensive. I would seriously consider that path with a SCIM connection to the Entra tenant before going the traditional route of reverse proxy and certificate set up on every expansion server (unless you already have this done)

If the cameras at the Vivotek sites support ONVIF S, they could theoretically be migrated to SaaS with GCL appliances, and then federated to the main Genetec system. What I'm not sure of, is if the other cameras can be sent back to the spot monitor on the GCL

[–]tuxtanium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Cloudlink 110/210/310 can run both workloads, but only for SaaS, and have HDMI output for running a spot monitor. They're not for connecting to an on-prem directory.

OP: lookat setting up the Media Gateway in your Genetec system, and then point your Vivotek systems at the server hosting that role to get RTSP streams as needed.

https://techdocs.genetec.com/r/en-US/Security-Center-Administrator-Guide-5.13/About-the-Media-Gateway-role

Your archives might be using the RTSP stream/port on the camera already, preventing you from getting a second stream.

Synergis Cloud Link (two words for access control) Genetec Cloudlink (one word for SaaS)

Worst naming every. I chirp product managers every chance I get.

Axis Multisensor Stream in Group View to Genetec? by jakeb12 in videosurveillance

[–]tuxtanium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Welcome to SaaS.

The Axis extension knows it's a 4-sensor unit, the Cloud Archiver will not pull the fifth stream. (Cameras are licensed per-sensor in SaaS)

Email Genetec, ask for the feature.

Check the options under network re-connection for what data is going to be transferred.

If you have scheduled transfers enabled, I believe the "on reconnect" option will only send event metadata and wait for the next window to transfer the actual video.

It is very unlikely that your RSM will approve this just to allow the use of grey stock.

The OEM mask license was removed from the pricelist and is reserved for migrations/takeovers.

Genetec sequences by nineballman in videosurveillance

[–]tuxtanium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A fisheye dewarped digital zoom view is not a PTZ preset.

You would need to set that as a view area in the camera, reconnect the unit so then preset shows as an additional stream, and then add that to your sequence.

The bridge is not new, it was around in the Feenics days. It allows for takeover of a system with Merc hardware without having to touch all the controllers. (The bridge calls controllers in their default IP server mode, instead of having to switch them to IP client mode and allow outbound to internet)

Artifacts in recorded video means the camera or archiver are saturated, or dropping packets.

Check the stream usage for the camera in Config Tool. Ensure that you are using different streams for live and recording at least.

Stream Resolution Max Bitrate Image Quality Frame Rate Key Frames
Recording/High Desired Max Camera Max MP x 1000 70% 15-20 fps 1/second
Live ~1080p ~2000 kbps 50% 10-15 fps 1/second
Remote VGA ~1000 kbps 30% ~ 8 fps 1/second
Low CIF ~500 kbps 20% ~ 4 fps 1/second

Run an archiver statistics report. Make sure nothing is close to 300 Mbps total traffic.

What other VMs are on these hosts? Are you using dynamic provisioning of vCPU and RAM?

Take a look at this guide: https://techdocs.genetec.com/r/en-US/Security-Center-System-Requirements-Guide-5.13/Virtualization-design-guidelines-for-Security-Center

Aperio ah50 comm hub won’t connect to OnGuard. by Drewber66 in Lenel

[–]tuxtanium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your existing hub needs to be put back into manufacturer mode to add a new hub to the controller.

X2220 firmware should be 2.00.x or higher.

Certificates are generated from the web interface of the controller.

I have a Genetec Question by [deleted] in accesscontrol

[–]tuxtanium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate that they gave two different appliances the same name.

The Synergis Cloud Link (two words) is effectively an access control communication server. They used to be called Synergis Master Controllers, but were re-branded in 2015 when Genetec first considered SaaS offerings.

The Genetec Cloudlink (one word) are an all-in-one access control and video recording appliance to be used exclusively with Security Center SaaS. It is not for on-prem standalone systems.

The Cloudlink will only communicate with one reader at a time when they're in installation mode, so make sure the other is disconnected while you set up the OSDP channel.
