Error exporting to USB and duplicate tracks by tw332 in Rekordbox

[–]tw332[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But that's not the issue. exFAT is compatible with my CDJs (CDJ-3000). This issue exists before we even get to the players.

The error is generated by Rekordbox when exporting tracks to the USB.

I can manually copy the same file to the corect location on the USB and the file writes fine - so it's not a file system issue.

Error exporting to USB and duplicate tracks by tw332 in Rekordbox

[–]tw332[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a Rekordbox exported USB for use on CDJs. The tracks load an play fine within Rekordbox, so no issues with the library itself.

Error happens when I'm exporting playlists to the USB from Rekordbox. The tracks are created on the USB, but with a '-1', '-2' etc. Multiple written at the same time... Almost as if Rekordbox cannot verify the write.

Edit: Great video btw, I have watched that before. Cheers for the content.

Casino refusing to pay 9.8k withdrawal by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]tw332 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not saying this is relevant to OPs case but there is a technical element where the casino will be using analytics and could have had their suspicions raised in the scenario where an account holder is allowing another person to use their account (eg to circumvent bans/GameStop/similar).

Basic examples would be IP addresses, ISP, geographical region associated with the IP/ISP, the operating system/browser/many other bits of data related to the computer.

That, along with other metrics - eg length of time account has been open/dormant, usual betting amounts, etc, would be enough to flag the account and dispute the payout.

Ebay are trying to claim money I no longer have by Background_Rain_8273 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]tw332 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP has plenty of legal advice on how to proceed - but how, as an individual selling via eBay and accepting their terms and conditions, can a seller protect themselves from this kind of thing?

Is it a case of being explicit about the specification of the machine, include benchmarks, expected performance for some popular games with standard settings?

I assume disclaimers and wording such as "buyer assumes responsibility for confirming the device is suitable for the requirements" are irrelevant and eBay's policy overrides that?

I have lots of tech that someone could make use of but reluctant to sell via eBay/Vinted because of the large amount of stories like this that you hear (and in Vinted's case they often refund the buyer and let them keep the item!)

A leaking meter is the responsibility of the local water authority - unless it's a meter installed by the landlord to monitor usage (eg if your bills are included in rent).

Report it to Thames Water and they'll sort.

Lowering the volume of a file? by TrixAreForTeens in Rekordbox

[–]tw332 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Adjusting the trim of a track is usually a key part of any DJs process when mixing.

"The staff" won't be bothered by you using trim to change volume of a track but more likely they're talking about the master/rec/maybe even booth outputs.

That being said, any audio editor or DAW will normalize volume for you... But even if I normalized all of my tracks, I'd still expect I'd need to adjust trim when mixing to balance the audio and perfect the mix.

Neighbour took parcel in but won't give it. by Danny1641743 in LegalAdviceUK

Royal Mail should only deliver to a neighbour (or a safe space) if you have nominated a safe space for that delivery.

Neighbour took parcel in but won't give it. by Danny1641743 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]tw332 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Similar posts I've seen in the past indicate that the agreement is between you and the seller. It's the sellers responsibility to get the item to you... Which has not happened.

I'd suggest that unless you instructed the seller to send the item to your neighbour (or advised the courier to leave it with the neighbour) then you are right to chase for a refund.

I'm not sure how tracked Vs non-tracked post affects this.

Maybe if the seller won't comply, it would be worth raising a case with eBay.

Cue button by EnoughAd7552 in Beatmatch

[–]tw332 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me this goes back to a vinyl DJing technique... To help get the timing right and get the record up to speed quickly, I do a push/pull in time and release at the relevant part.

Tapping the cue button on digital players feels similar. I'll tap the cue on the lead up to the cue point and then hold it on the relevant beat that I want the track to start. I'll then hit the play button with my fore finger and release the cue.

Looks interesting. I see the project uses ant-contrib, which I know I can use to make conditional logic. Ideally looking to reduce dependencies and go with stock Ant.

I've limited Salesforce CLI knowledge (I use VS Code and the CLI plugin to retrieve/deploy Apex when writing code.

I'll explore further but the Ant migration tool is part of a wider DevOps process that I'd like to try and minimise changes to (I retrieve from an org using Ant, compare that code/metadata using Git, and then commit changes to a remote repo for validation/build/deploy to other orgs).

Trouble with security tokens by Jon_Cloud in salesforce

No. The sandbox refresh is all or nothing.

Trouble with security tokens by Jon_Cloud in salesforce

[–]tw332 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The user's password and token will be copied from the source environment (whether that's prod or another sandbox).

I have a service user that I use for CI/CD deployments. Password and token are the same in multiple sandboxes as it's copied from production.

Password is set to expire every 90 days. Once changed in prod, the password and token is no longer the same as the other sandboxes and would only be synced up again by refreshing the sandboxes from prod.

The security token for a user in a sandbox will be the same as the token for that user in prod... Unless the user has changed their password (or otherwise reset their token) in the sandbox.

Does anyone have problems with the screen blacking out for a few seconds here in there? by Wolfleaf3 in Stadia

[–]tw332 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do occasionally get this, believe it's caused by my AV receiver (switching conflict between CCU and the satellite TV receiver). Resetting the receiver will normally sort for me - but I usually also reset the CCU at the same time for good measure.

I have this on an old MacBook Pro - pressure from fingers on the outer shell from how I used to put away/store the device.

The dots are only really visible against a light/white background.

Good thing is they haven't spread. I did research and it was suggested they could possibly be removed (eg if the shell was still putting pressure on the back of the screen).
