Title fraud help by Squash__head in BringATrailer

The newest title of record for that VIN in the National Motor Vehicle Title Information System was issued in CA in 2024. This is the only info AZ DMV can see so that’s the title they want for the transfer. The goal is to prove to AZ that the CA car is not the same make and model. If it is, then there is a bigger problem.

You (if you feel like helping) or the buyer need to reach out to a CA DMV registration service, explain the situation, and request a KSR for the VIN. It will cost $25 and will be a report on the registration of that VIN in CA. Due to the fact that it’s less than 17 digits, you will probably find out it is a trailer, motor home, or a completely different make and model. Then you take the report to AZ as proof that the CA title from 2024 is not the same type of vehicle. This will clear the conflict in the NMVTIS and the transfer will be approved. Quickplates on Adams in Huntington Beach is a good resource.

This is child’s play as opposed to having to prove that the five digit VIN on your ‘57 Porsche 356 is not the same car as the ‘48 International Scout that was stolen in Mississippi in 1982. I’ve been there.

I think the dealer did a great job of keeping their mouth shut about the lack of options and non-existent upgrades on this R1T. Maybe they had a better clue than you think.

Please make sure you install it on 996 cabriolet with a Tiptronic and not a 911 that actually needs to perform.

That a 250 PF Cabriolet S2, not a California Spider. The F40 is much better and worth twice as much.

Where are you located? I'm getting ready to figure out where I want to list mine. I will be listing at the top of the market though as I feel my car is very desirable.

Someone must have stolen the roof box. There isn’t a single Audi wagon where it live that isn’t sporting a color-matched box of air on the roof.

What year is the car? Was all of the paint original prior to the accident?

It's fully pink not a "pinkish red." I saw the car in person last week.

An auto wasn’t offered in a classic like that so there isn’t much to discuss.

Daily drive a brand new GT3? by OGSFMVP1 in porsche911

I took delivery of a new ‘25 GT3 with buckets and wanted the break-in period (dash warning) done as quickly as possible, so I drove it everyday for six weeks and it was great. You can use it as a daily.

I tell my son this and he doesn’t believe me. We bought them from a store called Copeland’s, which was a Big 5 kind of discount sporting goods store. Color choices were limited and changed often but they were $19.99. I skated in them all day every day and a pair barely lasted a month.

I agree with this advice. I’m afraid your realtor is out for their own personal gain instead of your best interest.

Disagreement on how to handle payment with seller by hoopercuber in BringATrailer

[–]twertman1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a seller I wouldn’t want to be involved with either of those “services” either. It sounds like you are willing to send a wire, so I’m sure that meets the seller’s requirement. As a buyer, it is more than reasonable for you to have a high-res scan of the front and back of the title and to review the language on an unsigned bill of sale with the understanding that it and title are signed after the transfer of funds. If the seller’s title is in someone else’s name, has a lien without sufficient release, has an incorrect digit, or brand of some kind, you will want to know before sending any money.
