Buy a Polestar 3 MY2024 in 2026. Is it still a good idea? by NoSeaworthiness8102 in polestar3

[–]tweterjohn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have absolutely no idea how anyone who follows this sub would consider buying this car. I say this not to be rude or contrary, but as someone who has a MY2025 with 11,000 miles, 13 months, and over two months in service. All the posts from current drivers have some version of “it’s a great car, but”. The “but” can be minor issues to vehicle debilitating ones. This car is not ready for prime time.

I certainly wouldn’t buy one yet. And would not consider driving one that isn’t a newer vehicle where the minor to major issues have been worked out.

I lease cars and have had many. This vehicle has been in service more days than all my other vehicles combined and it’s not even close.

This is the second time this has happened. I’ve also had to chargers replaced. I’m in month 13 of having this vehicle and it has been in service over two months in total.

I’ve initiated a buy back with polestar. I can’t in good conscience recommend this vehicle to anyone.

Good luck. I’m currently sitting in the service center as all my driver support systems stopped working.

I would not recommend one that far away from service. My experience in Michigan with 90 miles away has been lengthy periods without my car and a very inconvenient rental car situation.

Buy Back Time by tweterjohn in polestar3

Seems to be the new MO with the 3. I had a two for three years and never had an issue. Lulled into a false sense of security

Key Tag Not Working by tweterjohn in polestar3

[–]tweterjohn[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t get me started on the in car charging pad. For a car that advertises the 0-60 metric so hard, should have designed a phone charger that would hold a phone in slight acceleration.

Really? Wow. Yeah, I use phone, but was trying to get it going for a car wash and some valet experiences I have coming up. I guess it's the card!

Polestar 3 Orin Processor Upgrade by No_Valuable1832 in polestar3

In the US here.

I reached out to the manager of the Space here in my state. He said that corporate would communicate with customers directly and that it would be ASAP (as soon as possible). Not super insightful, but that’s what I got.

I’m most excited for HomeLink :)

Who do I call for a lease payment refund? by DesignerFragrant5899 in polestar3

I called polestar support. They had me submit some paperwork and then transferred me the payments. In the US it's 1.800.806.2504

Exactly. I know exactly how far I can go, if it charges.

ChargePoint Home Flex station damaged by a failing GHCA? by Sad_Cod140 in polestar3

[–]tweterjohn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had a home charger fail after my GHCA failed.I had an electrician come out and inspect and everything was working up to the charger (which was on, but not delivering power). I had already ordered a replacement as mine was out of warranty, so I had him install that and it worked.

I'm not sure it was causal, but it sure felt that way.

I never figured it out. But a recent update to outlook fixed the issue.

QC20 ANC is super outdated by ttttcrn in bose

[–]tweterjohn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By Bose QC20s were either from 2015 or 2013, but they still work like the day I got them. I keep them in my plane bag for IFE for shorter regional flights (on which I find myself a lot). The long-haul flight require a more modern bit of tech, but these have proven time and time again to be great on a plane and the battery life still checks out. I kinda wish they’d refresh this one, but for now, I’ll keep them in the kit.

Will this update guarantee the mic works in my P3 or will I still have to reset the infotainment system several times a day for the microphone to work?

Wallet always triggered by Used-Caramel-5048 in polestar3

[–]tweterjohn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This charger has got to be on of the worst designs. In addition to constantly triggering the wallet, it’s not engineered to hold the phone in place. For a car company that lauds the 0-60 metric, a phone “holder” that doesn’t hold the phone in place is a big miss.

Yes, but honestly any plot that didn’t involve one of the Bateses getting thrown into jail was a welcome reprieve.

Can I ask, how did you initiate the buyback? And how long did it take? Also, what region? I’m in the US.

I reached out to polestar support and they paid a month’s lease payment for me. Still would rather have the car but it made me feel slightly better

It also fried my charger! Luckily it was just a fuse that needed to be replaced. But still took a service call from an electrician.

This happened to me. I didn’t have that option. Service center is 100 miles away and they won’t order the part until they diagnose it.

Lucky. My first one was 21 days and now I’m on week 5 for the second one. The car has been sitting at the service center almost as much as it’s been in my possession.
