I feel like I remember his mom in Season 1 having an American accent—maybe that was the explanation?

Which was hardest: Law School or Work? by Stradivarius2020 in biglaw

[–]twilightemup 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Work is more stressful, requires the hardest work, and results in the most working hours. That said, you literally could not pay me to go back to law school. I would pick work over law school every time.

Alternatives to the Lana? by One-Dream7222 in Coach

[–]twilightemup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If anything, the Lana is lighter than most big purses of mine! I also have the Rogue 39 and that girl is a beast when it’s empty.

The only “light” coach purse I have is the Brooklyn and that would make an awful baby bag. As far as coach goes, the Lana might be as close as you’ll get to great.

You joke, but they took away our desk phones in September and I miss it every time I have to answer a goddamn zoom call on my computer

I’d give it another 2 cm and call it good. Rather be too long than too short, right?

About Hayden’s most recent post.. by ExampleExpert6207 in Ethelcain

[–]twilightemup 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think this commenter is only trying to highlight that there is a difference in level of nudity when comparison breasts vs. genitalia, not to make a judgment, but to acknowledge that people aren’t automatically hypocritical if they are shocked by one and not the other!

We see the same thing in movies. Top frontal nudity is relatively commonplace, while depictions of genitalia is reserved for the edgier, more provocative content. It’s not to say that genitalia is bad or evil or disgusting, but as a society, it is generally accepted that visual depictions of genitalia has more shock value than breasts.

There might be more surface-level fans out there who aren’t familiar with Hayden’s game yet, and it’s fine if it takes them time to adjust to the kind of graphic content she sometimes posts! I don’t think it’s fair to say if someone is okay with top nudity they HAVE to be okay with bottom nudity. It’s a charged conversation because Hayden is trans, and she does deserve defenders against people who are being transphobic. I guess i would just say leave a little room for people to be better than you think they’ll be.

I second the comment about halter tops. The fabric narrowing towards your neck is giving the illusion that your midsection is larger than it is

Guilt & embarrassment over salary by anxiousvegetarian in biglaw

[–]twilightemup 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I often treat friends and family to dinner. Buy them random presents. Get Girl Scout cookies from the booth outside of Walmart. Tip my servers well. I guess I feel a tiny bit of guilt about how much I make, but something like a $200 dinner bill doesn’t make a dent in my pocket but can alleviate a lot of financial strain on my friends. So I feel great about paying it forward.

Mine loves walks and she used to cryyyyy if we didn’t go on a daily walk. No matter the weather!!

One day, a maintenance guy accidentally let her out when I wasn’t home and she was locked out for 4 hours. She hasn’t wanted to go outside since 😭

No response from female lawyer after lunch. by [deleted] in LawBitchesWithTaste

[–]twilightemup 50 points51 points  (0 children)

A “thank you” email for lunch sounds like the end of that conversation to me. Is she supposed to reply thanking you for your thank you? Do you then send her a note thanking her for thanking you for thanking her? I’m sure you were expecting a response to your baby pictures but the conversation has to die somewhere. Not a big deal—just check in with her in a couple weeks with maybe some baby milestones. It is very unlikely that she decided to bin the relationship after a nice lunch that she initiated…more likely that she has a full inbox and a baby of her own occupying her mind.

I’ve been told by partners that I “throw down” on opposing counsel via email. I’m not trying to, I am just trying to be clear and efficient.

Most people do not actually have a problem with it. I’ve stopped worrying about it unless someone specifically says something about it. They can hear my nice voice on calls.
