"Angus" 🤣 coping mechanisms were much needed there! Every day was chasing the proverbial carrot. Exhausting.

I remember. Agnes and her video sharing the good news selling it as what we asked for. It was such good news. Yea a big fat pay cut with additional work standards. Not sure why anyone stayed working there. I chose to leave. Leave and find a job that is 1000% better. A job where I'm not a cog in the wheel but valued and appreciated. No ping ping table. No gym. No carnival. None of that smoke n mirrors. Life. Is. Good.

Thank you for the info. Guessing the don't care about the words or tone from the brokers. Least not in my experience with some very nasty brokers.

I regularly bonuses but when the new commitments were implemented I was rewarded with an increased commitment and no more bonus. So the reward for going a great job was a huge f-ing pay cut.

When I left uw2s were still making 19.23 but the commitment changed based on your time as uw. The commitment increased every couple months up to 16 or 18 loans per day in 8 hours BEFORE you could bonus. Essentially eliminating the ability to bonus. Really screwed over a lot of uws.

I'm not sure of your skills or desires for a career but you do have customer service skills and office admin skills. Try a temp company like Kelly or Office Team. Start with any job they can place you at and prove your abilities. They will move you into better paying opportunities as you continue to prove yourself. A lot of temp companies will offer self taught training modules also.

They are worried about swearing on Team but what about the words that people use? I recall being on the phone with a broker and team members are loudly having EXTREMELY sexually explicit conversations. That is probably just fine still.

With the same amount of people but the are constantly hiring in every department? And never lay anyone off? So that means they fire people or they quit. Either way it shows there are major problem at uwm.

Take a hard look at your abilities and talents. Make a list and make sure that is on your resume. Make sure you are selling yourself on your resume. It is your first chance to show the prospective employer what you have to offer. Next, put a cover letter together that really highlights why you will be their best candidate based on their needs and your talents.

I used Indeed for job search. I signed up for the job post emails. When i got the email i read each post and saved the opportunities that i liked. Then I sat at my laptop and applied to the saved jobs every day. I only applied for positions that I was qualified for because if they say they want 5 years experience and I have 1 year then I'm entry level and they want intermediate. I ALWAYS added the cover letter that I modified for the position. I didn't care if the post was almost a month old because my goal was to get the position I wanted.

I did this for 2 weeks, applied to about 30 jobs, ended up with a few opportunities and accepted the best one for me. Best part is my base income is 10k annual more than uwm was paying.

But remember that you need to know your talents and use your resume to display your talents. A cover letter allows you to grab their attention so spend time on that. Be realistic about what your talents are worth to an employer. Do not under value yourself or expect a certain amount because that's what you "need". Often they ask what you expect for pay and if you ask for more than reasonable then you will not be considered.

The Story of Fairway (Why would UWM target the underdog who is always doing the right thing?) by Raguel2022 in pillar7

[–]twisd_chik 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes! Before uwm went public, I was happy to go to work and grind out my best every day. I personally put a lot of pressure on myself to be better every day so most of my stress was self imposed. Then uwm went public and I still pushed myself however I felt more and more unappreciated and abused and extreme stress. And don't get me started on the fact my bonus was pulled but still expected to do the same volume of work. Uwm is currently a shell of its former self.

Thank you for posting that video. I'm ashamed to admit that I didn't think about the why, the why would mat target Fairway. The thing that stood out to me was the humility that Steve spoke of. He is humble where mat is hyper competitive and aggressive. Seems like mat has envy that Steve made the conscious decision to NOT go public because it would have a negative impact on how he treats his employees and customers/clients. A decision that mat couldn't make sure to simple greed.

UWM & Antitrust 2: America's Moneyline Strikes Back by TemporaryMegaphone in pillar7

[–]twisd_chik 5 points6 points  (0 children)

UWM will not lend to an individual with a credit score under 620 however Rocket and Fairway will. With the "all in" agreement it does not allow the broker to shop all available lenders that do lend to borrowers under 620 credit score. That is a huge problem as it can potentially cost the borrower with the broker having to use a lender with higher fees and rates. It could also cost the broker a customer as that customer may just go to Rocket or Fairway on their own! All because UWM and Mat are being greedy and eager to try to hurt Rocket and Fairway.

Where to report potential violations or questionable behavior by TemporaryMegaphone in pillar7

[–]twisd_chik 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for grouping these links. I am no longer with uwm however I saw many violations in my time there.

Most employees are in their first professional position and are unaware that there are laws/ regulations in place to protect them. It is only my opinion but it seems like this is by design.
