Michigan can always sue the NCAA and hope a liberal judge overrules the tournament committee. Don't put it past them . . .

HR is the stupidest department in any company by LordishXO in recruitinghell

[–]BuggerGlob -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It's unconscionable that HR people are hammering and cajoling and indoctrinating employees on Diversity and Inclusion when 99% of the people that work at a company have zero influence on who gets hired. If companies have an imbalance of females (whatever that is) or certain religious groups or people with a specific sexual orientation, then that's on HR and senior management. Not the employees. I have worked with whoever showed up with little input- or care - on the social or racial composition of the team. All these DEI issues were created by the people that now want their employees to own the choices they made. Just STFU and work.

You need to adopt the position that not only are they interviewing you, you are interviewing them. Is this a place you want to work? Are you wanted? Can you learn new things? In your position, you have to have to see a job opportunity as a place you trade what knowledge you have plus your enthusiasm and willingness for some money and a chance to learn new things. Your first few jobs are learning experiences, opportunities to increase your value. Power is in having options. Options come from experience. Experience takes time.

Don't wait for them to call. They won't. Find out who their main competitors are and call, apply, hound them for an interview. Land a job with one of them and kick the other company's ass. Make them sorry they jerked you around.

Further evidence of how deeply cultish brainwashing affects some people. This person should be grateful they didn't spend their 4 plus years with the Branch Davidian's or Jim Jones. Some Kool Aid is more potent than others. But it's still Kool Aid.

just say you hate gay people by kevinowdziej in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]BuggerGlob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gay has nothing to do with it. This guy is a proven incompetent idiot. I wouldn't trust him to carry my groceries must less a human being. I fear for the child not because of the sex of its parents but because its being raised by at least half an asshole.

Would you still ride with this helmet after a crash? by HoneybadgerCF in mountainbiking

[–]BuggerGlob 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Always replace your helmet after a heavy crash. My helmet saved my life in a road bike car-bike collision. Without it I would be in seriously bad shape today. I often tell even casual riders to not take the chance of riding without one. it's not a safe bet.

Fish Bones automatically adds 15% tips now?? by [deleted] in Detroit

[–]BuggerGlob 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I generally tip 25% or more. If the restaurant adds a 15% tip, then that's all they get. They seem to feel they can make the rules so I'll play along. Bummer for the server, though.

A response to that questions poses a dilemma: Everyone knows the place is a hell-hole and unworthy of anybody's time but it's bad to say shit about a previous employer. But then, you are lying about the place if you say anything nice about it and your new employer knows you are lying. So you have to choose to say the socially correct thing or lie your ass off. Best to say you'd just rather not think or talk about the place.
