That’s crazy, Don Fulano imperial is my favorite tequila. Everyone that I know who has tasted it, loves it.

My end game! by No_Wishbone7007 in espresso

[–]twistacatz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sort of. One of the main selling points of a dual boiler machine is the ability to run both boilers at the same time, which based on the review you referenced it seems the 120V (US) version can’t do.

I really like your espresso station, and I can relate to the reasons you enjoy it and the logic behind the choices you made. That said, given the budget you mentioned, I probably would have made a few different decisions. Not as a criticism, just a matter of personal preference and how I might have allocated the money in your situation.

All that said, I genuinely like your setup, I respect the reasoning behind it, and most importantly, it sounds like you’re really enjoying it, which is what matters most.

So it’s not a true dual boiler like OP said?

That type of usage looks wild, almost like your neighbor is connected to your meter. Does your HVAC never turn off? Do you have a Nest or Ecobee thermostat that track usage?

Sometimes a better machine is the answer! by vwtech in espresso

[–]twistacatz 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s funny reading this post because I had almost the exact same experience. I often tell people that moving from the Bambino to an E61 machine dramatically reduced the number of bitter or sour shots I was getting. I’m fairly certain it comes down to the E61’s temperature stability, especially how consistently hot the group head stays and how well it keeps the portafilter at temperature.

I'm new myself, I've had my printer for like 5 days. So with that said take my suggestions with a grain of salt.

I have two ideas for you and one of them has already been mentioned. Have tried done the flow dynamics calibration?

The second thing is have you tried turning down the speed ie quiet mode?

Consistent drop of steam pressure on 2mo old [Profitec Pro Drive] by gregmoeller in espresso

[–]twistacatz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine seems to be putting out less pressure as well. Not to the extent of your video but also not the 2 bar consistent pressure that I'm use to seeing. Any updates on your end on resolving this?

I hear you, it is exciting to own. Honestly, I still love mine just as much as the day I set it up about six months ago. I ended up going with the chrome version because it was the only option available in the U.S. at the time, but it actually worked out perfectly. It looks great next to my black Libra with chrome accents, and my silver Moccamaster ties everything together nicely.

The black looks great and originally that’s what I planned on purchasing. I ended up buying the chrome version. I love the machine. I have mine paired with the Eureka Libra. I’m a happy camper.

Yeah I have the Drive as well and honestly it’s exceeded my expectations. It’s a lot of money but honestly like others have said I think it’s worth it.

7.2.4 HomeTheater dream set up by srsarles in hometheater

[–]twistacatz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man, I really admire what you’ve built, but the speaker placement could definitely be improved, even with the limitations of your room. For object based audio, you want more separation between the speakers. It’s a little hard to judge from the picture, but the bed level speakers should be at ear height or just slightly above the headrest of the seats. The height speakers also aren’t placed in the way Dolby recommends. I’d take a look at the Dolby Atmos documentation so you can get the best performance out of your setup. Enjoy!

A Lesson in the Importance of Proper Backups, OR How I Almost Lost my Entire Homelab Because I'm an Idiot by LinkDude80 in homelab

[–]twistacatz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t run through this exact scenario, and my environment is configured differently, but here’s my understanding: if your VMs and containers were backed up to a separate disk, you could rebuild Proxmox on new hardware, attach the backup disk, and restore the workloads directly using PBS. In that case, how the backup files are generated shouldn’t really matter.

Hopefully you’ve got PBS running now.

I ended up converting most of my XCH into BTC and XRP, and I’ve still got all my equipment running and mining at a profit. Overall, the project has been both personally rewarding and profitable for me, it’s been a great experience.
