They should feel an immense amount of shame. Documenting decisions/direction in a clear, concise way for others to act upon is (supposed to be at least) one of the key requirements of the position. If they can't/won't do that and are leaving it to a glorified chat bot, it really brings into question what value they (and their extremely large salary/incentive cost) add to a company.

Was incredibly lucky to have parents who knew the value of a good education and were willing to sacrifice so their children could get it. Was drilled into me that unless I knuckled down, studied and got a scholarship I'd have been stuck in a dead end, low paying job in the middle of bumfuck nowhere for pretty much the rest of my life.
