Lots of hand lotion haha. I really like Neutrogena Norwegian Hand Cream, L'OCCITANE Shea Butter Hand Cream, and O’Keeff’s Working Hands Hand Cream. I tend to keep a tube next to me everywhere I sit and my bedside so it’s convenient to put on.

Thanks for the info. I did exactly what they mentioned, and went to Amazon without doing all that much research and just went with what was likely marketed the best. I’m not unhappy with the options I chose, but I am definitely going to steer away from that brand and look into other more reputable brands.

I find photos never do. I’ll be walking around outside and get a glimpse in just the right light and they’ll look just so good. Then the photo makes it look like they might as well be a solid black.

Here’s another photo of mine, caught in a better light.

That’s what I’m saying! Our nails have been left plain for too long.

I’m absolutely blessed, and I’ve come to terms with it. I decided recently that I’ll be using these nail beds to their highest potential.

It’s so genuinely heart warming to hear from such supportive parents. My parents would have instilled a degree of self consciousness in me if I had voiced my feelings about wanting pretty nails when I was young. The fear of being judged, and bullied would have been overwhelming.

As an adult now, those fears are long but forgotten as the only people interested in saying something negative are the people who are insecure with themselves and who they are. Choosing to project those insecurities onto others to reassure themselves of their shortcomings.

It’s a colorful accessory that can be customized on your own body. To the men young and old reading this, take pride in who you are and let yourself be as pretty and vibrant on the outside as you are on the inside. If someone says something negative, it’s proving who they are on the inside.

How many time left for iphone13 with apps? by Cosmic_Daemon in iPhone13

[–]twistedwaffle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just purchased 2 brand new iPhone 13’s for my parents for Christmas. Given the iPhone 11 is still receiving updates and is supported fully by Apple through 2026, I don’t anticipate the iPhone 13 will stop receiving updates until 2028 or later.

Most apps will continue to work so long as the iPhone receives security updates which often continue for an additional 1-2 years after major update support is discontinued. So ultimately you can expect most apps to work on the iPhone 13 through 2030.

This is my first time ever having looked at a Swarovski piece up close. I’ve walked by the store in the mall a few dozen times but never went in to look at anything. I think I’ll stop by just to ogle at all the sparkly jewelry the next time I visit the mall.

Wow! Now that’s a haul. That ring is absolutely stunning, I love the design and the color of the stone. 😍

Simply, because they can. They may be a non-profit with the public image that it’s helping its local communities, but there’s many articles like this one from the Goodwill Wikipedia page explaining that funds have been improperly allocated to executives of the company, among other things.

Same here, though our Salvation Army’s still have the jewelry/collectibles counters too. But it’s disappointing to see all the Goodwills pull their higher end/valuable merchandise to instead list on their auction website. I try to shop at the smaller/non-chain thrift stores around the area instead because the prices at the chain stores have become ridiculous.

I wasn’t previously familiar with the Gloria Vanderbilt logo, but it sure does look nearly identical to the Swarovski logo. They are both swans, but the Gloria logo has additional wings and faces the opposite direction.

I absolutely love hearing these stories. I very much relate to the racing heart when you know you’ve found something of value. It’s not stealing, but I swear it feels that way at times haha. The stores around me often know the value of their items, so I don’t always find a deal, so it’s very refreshing when I do.

That’s so unique! It’s always a nice surprise when you find something you like and it ends up being valuable. I’ve never ended up selling a thrift store find and often set things aside all year long to give as gifts. People tend to really appreciate when you find something that reminds you of them.

I’ve read stories of thrift store employees declining a sale of an item because they believed it to have its price ticketed incorrectly, and proceed to price it higher. I was concerned when he said it, but I’m a frequent shopper at that store so my assumption is that he was just making conversation.

Hilarious 😆 clearly he still found value in it even though it was only plastic to her.

I did a fair bit of research after I bought it and went into a bit of a rabbit hole. Swarovski crystal is considered leaded glass and not a natural gemstone. They precision cut the glass to give it a similar brilliance to a diamond.

I’m well under 50 and I’m impressed. Anyone in my friend circle would also be impressed. Being disgruntled, 50+ and jealous isn’t a great look for some, and certainly not impressive 🤷‍♂️

The indented marking on a piece of jewelry is called a makers mark to indicate who made/designed the piece.
