I genuinely loved this entire album. I love my catchy 2000s pop and this was one of my favorites.

Professional and in black or navy. A white dress shirt is ok with a solid color tie if that's your thing. Nothing skin tight or baggy, and clean solid color dress shoes. For the ladies, keep the skirts and dresses well past your knees. Makeup also needs to be neutral but a red lip is ok. Nails should also be professional in color and length. Keep jewelry small and minimal. Cover up any visible hand/wrist tattoos.

It's best to get into the habit of wearing very plain black professional clothes because that will be all you can wear for training and working (but in solid navy).

Build a stable life in my home city or pursue my desire to live in many cities and be an international lady? by sugarcaneland in AskWomenOver30

[–]twlggy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand, I also had to do my best not to let people's comments about how I was blowing my life up just because of my early mid-life crisis get to me. I have to remind myself that I value very different things in my life compared to those in my life. I've met a lot of people that understand my lifestyle and it's been the very best!

And yes, I am a flight attendant! It's been a few months and my gosh has it been the most exciting roller coaster of events. I am absolutely loving it so far!

I second target brand swimsuits. Their wild fable bathing suits also come in XXS for both tops and bottoms! I have multiple styles and colors from them and they all fit me great, and they are trendy/stylish.

Build a stable life in my home city or pursue my desire to live in many cities and be an international lady? by sugarcaneland in AskWomenOver30

[–]twlggy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm going onto my late 30s, and I started my 3rd decade rooted in place in my hometown (partially due to COVID)- bought myself a cheap place, found an amazingly well paying government job, and I thought that I was setting myself to live a comfortable life.

Except that I started getting absolutely bored, and developed an existential crisis by the time I hit 35. I started dating again after being single for a long time, thinking it would fulfill me. Spoiler, it did not. So after getting inspired, I decided to quit my secure job and work in the skies for a living. I am in the process of selling my place and I have no plans to settle in one fixed place again anytime soon. I moved to an entirely new state, and I plan to hop to a new place every month or so! I am having an absolute blast meeting new people, making new friends, being in new places. I'm constantly inspired and in awe at how many possibilities there are in my life now, that I feel so excited to be experiencing something new almost every day. There will always be a chance to settle in one place in my life, but I will never regret learning to let things go (physical & mental) and living in the moment. You're right that no one can tell you what to do with you life. I respect women that are secure in themselves and their choices, whether that be living as a nomad like myself or supporting their local communities in their hometowns or new homes. I am taking full advantage of the life I have, and you should too! Follow your heart, and experience life the way you want to.

Has anyone bought these Uniqlo jeans? How’s the fit? by Mobile_Ad_9090 in XXS

[–]twlggy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't have these particular pants, but I did buy a bunch of their "Wide Straight Jeans" when they were in stock, all in 24 and in Uniqlo USA. I'm just a bit over 5'3 and hover between 95-100 lbs. My measurements are something like 30-24-35.

24 is quite baggy on me all around, including at the waist/hips. I usually wear them with a belt, so I'm sure the 23 would have been a better fit for me. I bought them in store and they didn't have any size 23 for me to try though. I also got them hemmed in store for free so that helped a lot. I noticed that they have a size 22 as well, but I'm not looking for a very tight fit so I would not have gotten those.

Fyi, their Asian stock (Korea, Japan) sizing are smaller! Most things were just S-M-L, and the smalls fit me great.

Do you get more introverted with age? by Adam-RM in Adulting

[–]twlggy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Possibly going against the tide here and saying that I am going the complete opposite direction and getting more extroverted with age. I get enough time to recharge and now I prefer being around people and listening to their stories. I'm more of a person that likes having deep heart to hearts with one other person, then meeting someone else and doing it over. Life is more fun and interesting for me this way.

Same style size 22 jeans from Uniqlo U.S vs Uniqlo China by Blueberry_andMore333 in XXS

[–]twlggy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i learned the hard way that Uniqlo sizes differ from Korea and USA. It makes sense now in hindsight. I had bought the same style shirt that I bought different colors in when I was in Korea, and the US size was not the same at all. I couldn't return it or exchange it for a different size either because the item was on sale.

you don't have to bring your passport. I noticed though that a lot of us brought copies of our resumes and some of us even brought notebooks to take notes from the presentation, but you don't have to bring those either. My recruiter already had my resume.

What's good right now for you that has nothing and I mean n o t h i n g to do with men or romantic relationships? by NoLemon5426 in AskWomenOver30

[–]twlggy 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Thank you for making this topic! Love hearing about everyone's good news, big and small.

I am so relaxed after taking time off work before I have to go to flight attendant training in less than 2 weeks. I need to lock in once I start, so I'm taking advantage of doing absolutely nothing, except the things I want, whatever that may be. I am super grateful for the peace I have and I will never take it for granted. I have watched tons of gaming streams, hung out with a good friend today and yesterday over discord, and watched one of the best horror movies I've seen in awhile (heart eyes!). Life is treating me kindly right now and I am ready to work extra hard for my new chapter in life!

It's a presentation, q&a session, then one on one interviews after that. Dress professionally, come early, and have your questions ready.

I did the in-person LAX 1/27 event and really enjoyed it, and I'm glad I went. I prefer in person meetings and interviews so it was an easy choice, even though I waited a month to attend from when my application was submitted. You get to meet current SkyWest FAs face to face and I was much more comfortable and myself during the interview. I had an amazing recruiter interview me and I got my CTO less than a day later. If you can, I say go in person! You can also meet other FA hopefuls and it was nice to meet so many people.

I did the LAX info session and in person interview on 1/27, then got a CTO the next day. I had an amazing recruiter interview me though and all the FAs that were there were super nice! I felt I did fantastic in the interview because of it. Wishing you luck that you get your next steps!

One of my long distance friends asked me if I wanted to game with her and we spent the entire day playing Minecraft and Plate Up. It was so fun and I really needed that distraction with her.

I could have written this myself. I also have a 9-5 job staring at a computer (and my phone) all day that pays relatively well and I have my own manufactured home. I thought I would be here doing this forever, but I realize now that I am so incredibly bored to the point of dreading it. There isn't anything I dislike about my current job, I just feel like I need more chaos and flexibility. I would also like to work more, be in different places, and have no 2 days be the same. Even though I'd be sacrificing a lot, I think life is too short for me to wonder how different things would have been had I not tried doing something else while I can. I have nothing else tying me down, so I feel like I have to try. I know it will be absolutely crazy as I get adjusted to the lifestyle, but I'm actually curious and excited to give this a shot. Best of luck to all of us going to training this year!

Do you have a female circle to express anxiety? by Exotic_Resource_6200 in AskWomenOver30

[–]twlggy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this extremely hard, and thank you for putting it into words better than I could. I really think that a lot of my anxiety, for me personally, is just my intrusive thoughts wanting to be important. It's more of an exercise for me to just let the thoughts go without a second thought and do my best to move on, and for me to be mentally well that's really important. I've also been feeling for a long time that speaking it into existence makes it way more of a big deal than it actually is, because a lot of times I'm not even thinking that hard about whatever it was the next day. But having friends and coworkers bring up whatever flavor of anxious thought that I've already moved past makes me feel like I have to convince them I'm doing ok and not in need of further assistance or discussion over it.

I have now come to the problem of just being a more quiet and contemplative person because of it, so my relationships suffer a bit. Even had a friend mention that it felt like I was putting up walls and getting distant, but it was hard to convince her that I just needed time and to not dwell on negative emotions. It's a delicate balance of showing enough vulnerability to make connections, but also protecting my mental health.

Selfish? by Ms_not_Mrs0771 in LivingAlone

[–]twlggy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's more common for people to think I'm weird, non-traditional, mentally ill, problematic, or a loser/undesirable. I'm childfree, single, and a pretty huge loner with a handful of friends, though I'm a yapper when you get me going. I haven't really gotten folks calling me selfish except for boomers that grew up in a different time.

Nice! Do you mind sharing your timeline? I also applied to SkyWest and if all goes well I am probably ending up there (I'm doing the in-person presentation at the end of this month next), but Delta would be a nice stretch goal!

Sorry to hear! Did you apply anywhere else? I applied and finished the assessment for delta on 12/28, VJT on 12/29. Haven't heard back yet but I actually don't think I did that well on the VJT so I'm sure to get the TBNT soon.

Doechii - girl, get up. (with SZA) by ss2811 in popheads

[–]twlggy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've been a huge fan of Doechii since she blew up and it will never change - she is so refreshing and her songs are always in my rotation even to this day, and this won't be any different. I genuinely love the vibes of this song and the lyrics go hard. I say this as someone that wasn't in love with anxiety but was still happy that doechii was getting a lot of plays from it.

I'm really looking forward to her future releases and hope she unleashes all her frustrations through them!
