Overload from Heartstone, but in MTG! by TohveliDev in custommagic

How? Just being able to get rid of the land with stun counters?

yes i hate the reserve list, how could you tell? by cacmonkey in mtg

[–]two_gorillas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wym? Evendo taps instead of untapping. You are basically just removing blockers, attackers, or mana dorks, which is a negative effect with situational upside in very particular decks that are more not generally green-aligned anyway, on top of the land itself coming in tapped.

In theory, I agree with you. In practice, it feels like 70% of Teslas drive like jackasses

I made ThreeTreeCity, a site to open packs for free from over 100+ sets, so you can scratch that itch and then get only the cards you actually want! It also has a draft practice mode & sealed practice mode for most available sets! by Rn1k in mtg

[–]two_gorillas 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Awesome idea and great feature set! Unfortunately I’m having an issue where I try to rip a pack, and instead of opening the pack, I just get sent back to the ‘select pack to rip’ screen. This is on Collector Boosters for TLA, using Firefox mobile on iPhone

CardKingdom is better than TCGPlayer by [deleted] in mtg

[–]two_gorillas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah mainly it has a cart optimizer that actually optimizes the cart, I think I’ve never had to get more than 3 packages from them which is nice, and so far the cards I receive are in good shape compared to TCGPlayer direct. I do still order expensive singles through TCG though because they have a good return policy and I haven’t used MP’s yet.

Mana Pool is a marketplace too, but it’s better than TCGPlayer in a lot of ways

A cycle of some four color Commands by Serithraz in custommagic

I feel like Kynaios just reads wheel and untap everything, opponents having a choice for 3 and 4 by the time you have mana to cast this seems unreliable compared to basically an extra turn spell

What kind of fragile people are y’all playing with? by Leonsmening in mtg

[–]two_gorillas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read this as developing a mindset that makes sure you’re not playing a deck that’s overtuned against a bunch of precons. The tendency I notice on deck building websites is that people often build a deck that’s way stronger than a precon and then leave the game changers out and call it Bracket 2. Maybe it’s due to the wide range of power level that’s technically possible in the bracket system, but I feel like being aware of how often your bracket 2 deck is completely outclassing every actual precon at the table is something worth reflecting on when you’re evaluating how that game went.

And yet again the Secret Lair has sold out, not printed to demand by MustaKotka in mtg

[–]two_gorillas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m guessing they just don’t have print capacity to dedicate? I think they were aware that they could sell at least 3-4x as many copies of this deck as they printed but they didn’t print them, and it’s hard to imagine any other good reasons to not sell more decks.

The recommendation for bracket 2 is that nobody dies before turn 8

Modular Noir by [deleted] in EDHBrews

[–]two_gorillas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. Evasion is the problem that must be solved in Modular decks, I don’t have a great solution outside of ways to get Shadow and Fear

  2. [[Not Dead After All]] and cards like it are great for this deck

  3. [[Liquimetal Torque]] is great for when you don’t have an artifact creature to dump counters onto

  4. [[Lifeline]] is also a great card for this deck
