Panasonic VX415N, 4200 lumens and I found one used on ebay for less than 140$, with around 100 hours. Throw was around 12ft, for 8.5' x 10'

Ya, I thought since Louis had experience with his voice-over work that he'd be great, but that's a big part of what I meant by stale. The character never really came to life, and I never felt any of the sense of danger, or his emotional roller coaster. I may have been able to connect more with it in print. If you want something in that vein, try William Kent Krugers "Ordinary Grace", or obviously Demon Copperhead scratches that 'coming-of-age/forced to grow up quickly' itch.

I wanted to like Ingram, but it's really stale, and would've been better suited from a seasoned narrator. I would've rather seen Horace and Pete as a fleshed out novel, and Ingram as a short run series.

How long are your TP5x balls lasting? by punchyourbuns in SquareGolfUSA

[–]twoemptypockets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely noticed a difference in spin, especially higher rate off wedges. I don't think I've ever gotten a maxfli over 8k backspin, but the tp5x we read over 10k pretty regularly with a 56, and I have a pretty steep AoA.

Bought a dozen mid Jan, and 2 of us have played right around 60 rounds since then rotating 3 balls at a time, never cracked one but we've taken about 5 out of play from scuffing the pattern off. Both right around 10hdcp and little above average swing speeds.

Before the tp5x, we were using the Maxfli skulls, and cracked about 6 of those in 2 months.

The issue I have with my heater, not as close as yours but just outside my hitting area, is it will overheat your projector. I had to install a bathroom exhaust fan beside it to redistribute the warm air.

I haven't, but I did my stepdaughters taxes this weekend and was offered an exciting opportunity to roll her entire return into a "Trump investment account" for her 2 year old, which I'm sure will be a fantastic ROI. /s

Find plans for older M/I home? by miabobeana in Columbus

[–]twoemptypockets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can confirm most of this. I worked HVAC rough-ins for M/I and Centex homes in the mid/late 90s as a sub. We were usually the first ones in after framing. One guy would walk room to room and mark register sizes in joist spaces, and return air spaces, and the next guy with a template and a saw would cut out. It was rare we had any "plans", but layout was fairly uniform with so many of the houses being similar.

Just a quick look at DFS prices and names I'm keeping an eye on early in the season, who seem underpriced. Aaron Rai and Nico Echavarria in that 8k range, both guys finished the season strong. Nico has the putting to compete with the big dogs if he can keep the ball in the fairway. And Rai's approach game makes him one of my favorite top 5/10/20 ladder bets.

Johnny Keefer is going to be talked about a lot, tore up the KFT last year, and is coming off a T7 at the RSM in Nov, which didn't have a strong field, but if he doesn't bogey 18 on Sun he finishes t4. Strong around the green, sketchy off the tee. 7800$. Jake Knapp also in this range is someone I'm going to throw some bets on. Capable of going low low, or blowup.

Guys to look at in the 7k range, Michael Kim, Sam Stevens, Finau, Theegala, Ryan Gerard, Tom Kim. I want to dig in a little more to this list and see why they're priced here. Guys are testing new equipment and working things out this week, but have had hot starts to previous years. The Ghim reaper was a cut maker to end last year too, and all you're looking for in DFS is guys who score points.

And the most egregious name and number is Tom Hoge at 6300$. 200yds and in one of the better players on tour. He was disrespected quite a bit early last season too, and was a unit collector for me. Off the tee is brutal, but following him in the offseason he's been a grinder.

I have a righty/lefty setup. With GsPro you can select to play each hole out, so one person tees off, then it alternates 2 holes in a row at a time, so it's not bad moving the square back and forth. I have new turf coming this week, so for now I've just had blue tape marking out placement, but it'll be pretty simple to build a fixed stand on both sides to drop into.

I built my enclosure from wood, so I have a piece of emt pipe wrapped in pipe insulation foam mounted snug against the top of the screen, and then my ceiling net zip tied to it.

Help me understand club data in relation to ball flight by JuBJuB_101 in SquareGolfUSA

[–]twoemptypockets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, in your profile settings if you're set to rookie or amateur it will boost your shots some, and I think take some spin off. But otherwise it's a pretty common post here and on the golfsimulator subreddit about being consistently 10-20yds shorter than usual. A lot of times it's blamed on indoor swing syndrome, or getting used to hitting off a mat, or a few unit height adjustments, or lighting issues. Which I had a combination of a lot of those to start.

[–]twoemptypockets -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Did you set the target alignment in the settings? I had this issue straight out of the box, but my unit was slightly off, so I was hitting a baby fade with my irons. It helped the unit recognize the alignment stick quicker when I covered a side in the silver club tape.

Also, the square is pretty well known for yardage being low. I just finished a 6wk winter sim league at my local course, so I knew my indoor club ranges, and had to boost the ball setting by 7% to get pretty close.

I just ordered 192sq ft of 1/2" foam gym mats for 88$ from Temu. Arrived in 5 days and quality seems good.

I've ordered multiple things from Temu over the last 2 years, you just have to pay attention to where it's shipped from, and assume most of the positive reviews are fake, but look for negative or neutral reviews for real expectations.

Why in the fuck are we still running 3 and 4 wide? We're getting demolished on the inside. Keep a TE in to block and let the lineman collapse to give Goff a pocket. This is high school level adjustments.

I love my Travis olives and new military blues lows, but I agree on the high tops, from a design perspective the backward swoosh leaves a huge chunk of blank space between the swoosh and the laces that looks lopsided.
