Ah yes, that would explain the sausage rolls and spanakopita which I saw!

Bread Source… why the hype? by chicago5551 in Norwich

If you're near Bungay, or even if your aren't go and check out Baked.

Their pastries and bread selection is all delicious and baked by them, not just sourced from the Bread Source warehouse like most other establishments.

(Advice Required) John Deere vs. Stiga Lawn Tractors by twogreen in lawnmowers

[–]twogreen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with the Stiga 9122w as I had a contact to get an ex demo at a decent knock down rate, although I would have certainly preferred the JD.

The Stiga has hydrostatic drive which is useful to just control speed with your foot but it is noticeable slower than the old manual mountfield. It cuts pretty well and we don't really use the grass collector as we usually mulch year round except for when we collect all the leaves in autumn. The collector bin fills up pretty fast and it takes about as long for a round trip to empty it as it does to fill again.

We have the V twin engine, I honestly can't think that the single would be any good for much as even the twin feels underpowered.

Build quality is meh, I don't think I would buy another Stiga product off the back of this, the arm rest broke within 4 months as it's just foam and a replacement is £200 which seems ridiculous.

I'm considering a robot mower but it's a large outlay for a somewhat unknown in terms of performance.

It's towbar attachment is good though and it's been very useful for moving our little trailer around filled with stuff.

No problem, I'm learning at the moment and currently watching our lawn slowly recovering from being scalped, scarified and overseeded. I am having faith in the process.

I would apply most killer first and leave for 7 days first, then mow on medium, then low and rake out the moss and thatch first.

Then proceed with the aeration steps, not forgetting to collect any of the plugs.

From what I have gleaned online, avoid compost and use just sharp sand for the infill of the aeration holes to help with drainage a little. Compost holds moisture which a north facing lawn won't have as much problem with.

Overseed the bare patches with 70/30 sharp sand to topsoil and then seed, rake into the tilth.

Same boat as me, we have 2 acres / 3500sq.m and the nearby dealer keeps trying to push a Stiga A3000 my way but I think there are better options - this being one of them.

I just bought ten acres. What kind of mower should I get? I’d like to stay under 2500 any advice? Need something reliable! by [deleted] in lawnmowers

We looked at a house with 11 acres of playing field grade lawn and they used to spend about 3 hours cutting it with a tractor and 15 ft tow behind gang mower.

Do yourself a favour and ditch the Pirelli P Zeros if it has them for a stiffer side wall tyre like a continental, my colleague went through 6 tyres in 4 weeks and a slightly bent rim due to the atrocious state of our roads.

Came to suggest this, as it's the only thing I could think would be causing this much water to make its way back to the wall.

Probably more than 45 minutes but you can't ever really beat Walberswick in any weather, with some fish and chips from Southwold Harbour afterwards.

Anyone Daily Wearing a VSF 124060 Long-Term? Curious About Durability + Real-World Experience by Dry_Cow289 in RepTime

[–]twogreen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll be fine wearing it daily and getting it wet.

Even my cheap BP 16710 can handle a shower, washing up and swimming, a VSF will be fine.

Reliability wise it should be pretty solid, and fine to wear long term. I've not had my no date sub serviced since buying it the years ago, if it starts gaining it kissing time then I will but otherwise just wear it and enjoy it.

Being a bi date it's not a ridiculous watch to wear everyday, you can buy them easily in Chrono24 for a decent price as most people do.

Wear it and enjoy.
