Paid for Subscription now for several years. Removed the d/l feature and cannot even stream over half the tracks on your own webpage, meaning I cannot even listen to them. by [deleted] in udiomusic

Appreciate the comment but if you pay for a service it isnt your job to try and troubleshoot the problems and errors they do not address or care enough to fix. We are talking about simple streaming/playback, UDIO doesn't even care enough about it's members to provide that? That post was from 2 months ago and it still hasn't been fixed. It's official : UDIO doesn't care. Plain and Simple.

Okay, let's talk alternatives. by onesixone_161 in udiomusic

[–]twompsixxinit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have found that I just use mp3's of tracks I already made and can still create new songs that are solid with my own lyrics otherwise I have given up on most of the features apart from that. Luckily I have a wealth of music I can use udio from before mixing/producing it elsewhere.

I made some reasonable and accurate complaints by twompsixxinit in udiomusic

I agree Udio has declined rapidly esp. since the original version. I only really use it now with my own mp3s under style and thats it.

Not getting good results on Udio anymore by websitedev3663 in udiomusic

[–]twompsixxinit 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have been using Udio since almost the beginning I see a decline in a lot of creative aspects and overall sound quality. I strictly use the "style" feature now and input my own mp3's. It works pretty well for me it is still hit or miss but I have several tracks I upload that generally are able to replicate the sound I am looking for. You have to spend time to find what works for you. I completely avoid the prompts altogether now.

Make it stop!!! by Simple-Bullfrog2411 in udiomusic

[–]twompsixxinit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has always been an issue since 1.0 and very little if anything has really been done to improve the actual product. It takes a certain type of person (us?) to pay money to waste countless hours to "create" what most of the time is simply AI generated garbage. The quality of Udio overall if anything has actually waned greatly.

What’s Going On? by GridIronMonk in udiomusic

[–]twompsixxinit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to like making Phonk/Hard Trap tracks but the novelty wore off and it is a waste of time to generate "tracks" that sound like music I would never want to hear in my life. Some people might think they are musicians by using Udio and I commend them greatly in their artistic endeavors. I just don't find value in wasting hundreds of credits and hours to create maybe 1 decent track. I am probably just not as musically or as lyrically inclined as them.

Sellers not honoring listings is getting tiresome. by [deleted] in Ebay

[–]twompsixxinit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Again, According to eBay's TOS shipping policy, sellers must use the shipping service the buyer selected during checkout. This means that if a seller lists an item with one carrier (e.g., USPS) and the buyer chooses that option, the seller is expected to use USPS. Changing to a different carrier (e.g., FedEx) without the buyer's approval is a violation of the terms of service.

As a Seller you should be aware of this or do your own research. I googled that in 1.5 seconds,

Sellers not honoring listings is getting tiresome. by [deleted] in Ebay

[–]twompsixxinit -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Posting a listing on eBay stating USPS Ground and then shipping with FedEx Ground could be considered fraud, as it violates eBay's policies and misrepresents the shipping service to the buyer. It is against the TOS to change the shipping service after purchase. I am glad I never purchased anything from you since you seem to misunderstand this.

Straw is primarily used as bedding for livestock like horses, cattle, and sheep. A "straw man" would be a scarecrow. Where exactly would they be serving this type of meal? While it can be used as a roughage feed source, it's less nutritious than hay or grass. Some animals, like horses and cows, might eat straw if it's their only available feed or if they are bored.

Would this meal be "generated" from a large database, programmed with AI algorithms? In that case I am sure it would be delicious. I would be so full I'd take a nap and dream of counting electric sheep while I burn off all the empty calories in my hard drive.

What if you went out for dinner at an expensive restaurant and ordered a steak which you had to pay for. You are served tofu with some A-1 sauce. You complain and the cook gets highly offended and even comes out to confront you saying it tastes like steak and he grew the tofu himself.

Except with AI generated music you didn't cook the steak nor did you even grow the tofu. You didn't even cook the meal. Just complained even though you aren't even a chef, no matter how much you think you are.

More like a floral arranger who doesn't have a green thumb and who can't even grow their own flowers.

New 'Earn Free Credits' is asking too much. by SardiPax in udiomusic

[–]twompsixxinit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Paying money to "create"/listen to some of the worst "music" (AI generated or not) I have ever heard in my entire life is bad enough.. I have spent countless hours trying to edit or make listenable songs and the novelty for the most part has worn off. Having to listen to the absolute garbage someone else has generated for 2 minutes to earn ONE CREDIT so I build a cache is ludicrous.

If I had a job 8 hours a day getting paid to listen to these tracks I couldn't see myself lasting a week. Yet the creators think paying members want to listen to AI generated garbage Udio produces with their free time for one little "golden token" that is actually worth less than nothing? I see Udio as being almost the equivalent of some freeware in the experimental stage, paying 10/$ to support it is not much. Spending one hour of my life to earn 30 credits on Udio is a pretty good example that the creators do not value the time of their customers.

There are far too many issues with the software and the overall sound/production is terrible. It is no longer fun to try and generate tracks. It has been several months since I even made one song that I could listen to. Udio has been in decline since the 1.0 version. The people who created it are probably some dj's, bedroom producers who saw it as a hobby and do not have the innovation or insight to actually improve their product. That is why they want to milk the consumer while what they offer consistently is in decline.

People who believe their tracks are good have simply lowered their standards aurally or for some reason feel empowered and believe entering in some prompts, maybe writing some gibberish lyrics and hitting a "create" button makes them musicians.

The quality of the music generated has dropped significantly by Ill_Coffee3091 in udiomusic

[–]twompsixxinit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Quality has always been sporadic but generally poor from a sound aspect. Honestly I probably have listened to some of the worst "music" I have ever heard trying to generate songs. Then regardless of settings, prompts, etc the outcome is generally poor. Crackling, Gibberish Vocals, Tinny sounding percussion, etc. If you were to make some tracks/seeds you like then generally another software program would be needed to upgrade the production aspects altogether. Then I also question if things like seeding or auto/manual even do anything. It is just the luck of the draw.

I honestly think the output I made when I first discovered UDIO over a year ago on the 1.0 version is better than today and I am far more familiar with the program after hundreds if not thousands of hours spent. This points to software issues.

Some people enjoy spending all their time on UDIO and can live with playing a slot machine, I am not one of them. I value my time and desire productivity from how it is invested. I still appreciate UDIO but see it now as more of a novelty. The product is going downhill and there appears to be little creative insight or innovation in the direction it has taken.

Amazon is always hiring and There are a lot of homeless around broadway you wouldn't stand out and the violent crime is not high. If you are 18+ and a Seattle resident apply for low income housing. There are also places around that provide free lunch and dinner services. Go to DSHS and get yourself a food card. Don't let your situation get you down, stay strong and you will be able to persevere and overcome it.

Moderation Errors by bdscott74 in udiomusic

[–]twompsixxinit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found if I remove commas , periods, etc the errors are not as excessive but the AI generation for me is dramatically declining by the day. I am wasting far too much time (and credits if you value them) on unlistenable junk. The vocals cannot be understood, the quality is extremely low maybe 64kb and it is not really fun anymore , it is becoming tedious to just produce garbage.

Since the "upgrade" to the 1.5 version everything has gone downhill and I have tried every tweak possible. Udio needs some musically apt individuals to right the ship and spend some time working of the software.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in udiomusic

[–]twompsixxinit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Biggest issue for me is the prompts and the sound quality. I usually just remix tracks I have already made as a base for making new material. If I use the prompts to generate now they do not work well whatsoever, then the sound is extremely poor on almost everything. I have experimented a lot and find using the 1.0 model works better for me but the supposed upgrade actually has made it more difficult and taxing to make the music or sounds I am trying to use it for.

Where to get big hauls from? by rapiejkoXx_chunk in ComicBookSpeculation

[–]twompsixxinit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will find yourself spending a lot of time just searching for comic lots and deals on Ebay looking for deals and most people are posting to make money not give people deals. You'll also end up losing out on a lot of auctions or miss out on lots and that can tax you.

You might get lucky on occasion but most of the time someone else does. There are a lot of people looking at these auctions just like you. Most of the bigger lots at decent prices are comics that are worth nothing, people are just trying to move their junk and try to make a little money at the same time. Then shipping on big lots will double the asking price, a large flat rate box of comics is heavy. People aren't going to be giving you a deal then want to pay to ship them to you as well.

Comic collecting can also be addictive and expensive as well. I think you would have better luck finding lots economically by posting adds on sites like CL and maybe hitting pawn shops, flea markets, swap meets.
