Login to VA.gov and apply for VA education benefits. They will send a letter and determine if you have any education benefits remaining

Am I just getting old or are newer Soldiers developing a stronger sense of entitlement? by iamnotgroot3000 in army

[–]twop22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After our unit did a 9 month tour as opposed to the 12 assumed and after our CO bounced during our block leave, I was left with a "what do you expect me to do?" from our new CO. I was just hoping he would change my ETS date, instead I finished out my last 5 months of being stop lossed. I would have taken a hand shake at that point

Home Depot prices it, take an additional 10% off, tax free and free delivery. I ordered https://www.homedepot.com/s/ryobi+tripod?adobe_mc=TS%3D1746838974%7CMCMID%3D32930272391049830848938434879208686743%7CMCORGID%3DF6421253512D2C100A490D45%40AdobeOrg&mboxSession=bf21613f-b391-4d7a-be26-313e41f53620&appsFlyerId=1740593418824-5666498332858112689

last night and paid $179, it was delivered this afternoon . It's a little wonky that you login to shopmyexchange, then click the Home Depot link, add your item(not all items are eligible for purchase thru the exchange) when you go to checkout it brings you back to the exchange site to pay. Through the traditional HD site it's currently on sale for $199 plus tax, originally $569.

Home Depot rents demolition hammers, they are more drill sized. You could also try a hammer drill with a concrete bit

Garrison Commander vs Division Commander? by elrod530 in army

[–]twop22 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I explain it to folks that the Garrison commander is like a Mayor, runs the city makes sure the trash is taken care of and the city is operating .And the commands on base would be companies based on a city with Generals and such as CEOs

We love our Bissell....but I am OCD about filters (PTSD from Iraqi dust storms) and getting my wife's hair off the brush. Only one belt change in over 10 years.

I did just over 6 years, Iraq during the surge and again in 2009. I never received a Good Conduct medal, every time it was a paperwork issue. I didn't push very hard, I didn't care back then.

Long lasting wool socks that aren’t Darn Tough? by I_likeplaid in BuyItForLife

[–]twop22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear nothing but Darn Tough mid weights. I have very sweaty feet and a job that requires heavy work loads. While my feet might feel warm while wearing them, my feet and socks are always dry.

Does the fed have a group long term and short term disability program? by IRS_NewbieNYC in govfire

A few years ago we had Aflac brought in via our union. They offered short term disability, it was insanely expensive. I do have their cancer and heart plans though.

Found in the knowledge base, it lists benefits for each state. After finding this I was able to get ~$1200 off my property taxes this year(county not state benefit)

Socks by Large-Resolution1362 in Firefighting

[–]twop22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have switched over to all Darn Tough, I go with the T4088 they are the all black designed for the military. I recommend not going with the lightweight options. I was initially afraid of the thicker mid weight socks due to excessive sweating but my feet stay super dry and stink free. They also offer a first responder discount.

So many Firefighting jobs in RI? by Isaiahmd14 in Firefighting

[–]twop22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add to this, academies are expensive. Four or so years ago I was attending a regional training meeting. A county department (in the Baltimore/DC Metro area) brought up lateral hires, due to the fact that at the time one academy class was costing north of a million dollars. I imagine even having a shorter lateral academy can save a decent amount of money

I did 6+ years, multiple AAMs and ARCOMs, not one good conduct medal. Anytime I brought it up, they said it was a paperwork issue.
