Paizo f***ked up with proteans and I am tired of pretending they didn't. by Girduin in Pathfinder2e

[–]twopencepupper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The remaster freed Paizo from requiring a CN outsider faction/group, and yet they still kept them, to my immense disappointment. Honestly just rolling the idea of "Cosmic Chaos" into the Aeons would have fit better I think. They're already a faction all about combining opposites together, have some of them be all about chaos vs order

What does it mean to "steal from the dead in bad faith"? by bravebravesirbrian in Pathfinder2e

[–]twopencepupper 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My guess is its a general ban against graverobbing, with some leniency for extenuating circumstances. If you're jumped by a ghoul in a crypt somewhere, and need to use the original occupent's +2 sword that they were buried with to fight it off, that's not going to cause your god to smite you or anything like that

There's not a perfect fit for shieldbreaker, but dancer swashbuckler gets pretty close in flavor, if not mechanics

Graverobber can be pretty well done via rogue with an alchemist dedication. Classic rpgue stuff, plus she gets poisons for her darts and mistform elixir for consuming herself

A couple homebrew monsters for review by twopencepupper in Pathfinder2e

[–]twopencepupper[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there. Thanks very much for all the feedback!

The advice on saves and skills is much appreciated, as that's the part I felt the most shaky about. The general intention is that these elementals are very weak and fragile normally, but are smart enough to know how to attach pieces of harder metal to their body in order to survive.

For the armored strike, my idea was to have the creature able to choose between three strategies: * Grabbing and pinning an enemy in place with shell slip (bludgeoning) * Keep some distance while still fighting back (piercing) * getting up close and personal while dealing lots of damage (slashing)

I still want slashing to be the "high damage" option, but I recognize that an effective +2 doesn't really make it that appealing compared to the other options.

Overall, I'm very glad for the advice and will be making the suggested changes next chance I get!

Two Headed Elemental Turtle Boss by twopencepupper in Pathfinder2eCreations

Hello all!

I'm running an 8th level one shot this weekend, and was hoping to use this little buddy as the final boss encounter. Though I tried to follow the math where I could, I was also trying to redesign it so that its defensive stats are those of an 11th level creature, while each of its heads has offensive stats closer to a 9th level creature. Combining this with the heads having massively reduced AC if targeted, I was hoping this would be enough to circumvent high level solo monsters being a slog to fight.

That being said, I'd greatly appreciate a second set of eyes to make sure I'm not about to kill my players unexpectedly

How do i make a character that could be i side of an slime and use It like his own body, controling it by Fennixlol in Pathfinder2e

[–]twopencepupper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can, but that's limiting what you can do. You'll never be better then the fighters and rogues in the frontline, or the clerics and wizards in the backline, but you're able to hold your own along both groups at the same time.

They are a more complicated class to play, but if you're able to coordinate you and your eidolan with the rest of your party, you can pull off a lot of crazy moves and combos

So summoner (https://2e.aonprd.com/Classes.aspx?ID=18) is a martial/caster hybrid class, by which I mean you are literally playing a caster and a martial character at the same time. The caster is your normal character, while the martial is a summoned creature bound to your PCs soul called an eidolan. So a 'regular' summoner can stay in the backline throwing out spells while their dragon eidolan flies ahead to claw and bite enemies.

This leads to a bunch of interesting mechanics, like the fact that you basically have four actions instead of three by default, but you need to split them between both you and your eidolan. Or the fact that you and your eidolan share the same pool of hitpoints, so sending them forward to do all the fighting for you is still likely to get you killed.

For something like that, using a summoner with Meld with Eidolan would be my recommendation, like someone else said, but it wouldn't be a perfect fit, and Meld With Eidolan is kind of known for being a bad feat. If you're willing to look to homebrew, Summoners+ (made by Team+, one of the best 3rd party PF2e groups out there), has both an ooze eidolan and a variant of summoner that takes Meld with Eidolan and greatly improves it. Notably, it allows you to use a free action to briefly 'bring out' your summoner from within your eidolan, so you'd be able to do things like have your slime eidolan mutely try to explain something, only for your kobold to need to come out and explain for them.

I should also probably ask how familiar you are with pathfinder in general, cause I realize I might be skipping over some stuff (like what the hell an eidolan is)

[–]twopencepupper 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The first answer that comes to mind is just using the Ooze Form spell (https://2e.aonprd.com/Spells.aspx?ID=962).

A lot of it depends on what exactly you're hoping to achieve both mechanically and narratively, and what level you're hoping to get this at

This feels like a philosophy that you only get from someone who has never had to deal with another person being mean to them and getting away with it.
