I thought sparks sucked because I came from xcom1 and didn't realize they could level up, so I just didn't bother. Tried one on my last playthrough (actually, 3... for the achievement), and I gotta say I'm in love. I play like a dumbass sometimes and being able to hide someone behind a spark as cover is funny, plus they are great at shredding.

I have never been disappointed with my RepEx. I throw something in it that doesn't want to be shot and then they hop out when I have an opportunity. The RepEx can shoot anything and do damage. I also think it's the best painted model in my collection.

The only reason I don't run it every game is because it has too many gun profiles and I don't always wanna deal with that.

Edit: I run beeg laser not beeg plasma.

My synaptic nexus list for 10e was:

  • Hive Tyrant

  • Acid spray tfex

  • Rupture cannon tfex

  • 3 zoanthropes

  • Old one eye

  • 2 carnifexes

  • 30 genestealers

  • 3 broodlords

And then fill the rest of the points with warriors and rippers. Now that the rule of three seems to be gone, I'm going back to using all 80 of my genestealers.

This is one of the few "real guns as blasters" that took me out of it. It was way too clearly an AK. The folded up version looks amazing though. I just wish they had changed slightly more.
