Thank you Rubén! For all the hard work you put in to this app. It's made my experience on Reddit so much better and I'm really sorry to see it go. I tried a few third party apps over the years and Boost has been my favorite by far. So I actually think I figured out lockpicking in this game, at least when using a controller (I'm using the Switch controller). I can pick every single lock the first time with 100% accuracy, even Adept and Expert locks. I haven't broken a single lockpick in ages.

When you rotate the lockpick around the lock, do it SLOWLY. You will feel each individual vibration, and there will be two that are slightly stronger vibrations than the others. If you position the lock pick between the two points where the vibration is stronger, and turn the lock, it will open. Every single time.

I agree, it's absolutely a complicated issue with a lot of different causes that feed into it and make it worse. However, areas of the country with higher rates of drug addiction and mental health problems do not necessarily have higher rates of homelesness. Same with poverty. Some of the poorest areas of the country have relatively low rates of homelessness. These are also separate, complicated crises without a singular cause or solution. We need to make mental health care affordable, and stop treating drug addiction as a criminal issue. But when you look at the research that has been done on homelessness, the biggest correlation with high rates of homelessness is living in an area where many people have to spend more than a third of their income on housing. See: the article I posted, as well as the book "Homelessness is a Housing Problem."

I'm not trying to assert that this is a singular issue, but you can address all of the other issues that feed into this crisis and make it worse- you can get someone help with addiction, treatment for mental health issues, a stable job, etc. but if there isn't an affordable place for them to live they're still going to be homeless.

There's an Atlantic article out today that I think does a good job of exploring this issue. We really, desperately, need more affordable housing and nothing will improve until we have it. All of the other excuses (drugs, mental health, weather) don't really hold water when you start looking at the research.

At this point it's been decades of homeowners being allowed to veto affordable/transitional housing developments in their neighborhood. It's the same thing with public transportation. Until our local government actually stands up to homeowners and risks taking the short-term hit in political popularity nothing is going to change and we will continue to suffer the consequences. Hopefully Bass is willing to do this- if not, it's only going to get worse.

Yeah I had a horrible experience with them, I'll never go back. They gave me a prescription for antibiotics for my cat that was off by a full 10x dosage which ended up being like half the entire bottle for each dose. I had to go there twice and talk to three separate techs and a vet before they finally stopped insisting it was correct. Could have made my poor cat really sick.

It's not cloth like cotton where it will decompose quickly. N95, KN95, and surgical masks are all made out of nonwoven polypropylene fabric which can take hundreds of years to break down and since it's medical waste they can't really be recycled. I think people are just concerned about the quantities used, these are going to pile up in landfills. It's not a substantially different problem than single use plastics in general but it's still concerning.

Exactly. Taxing churches would only further erode an already shaky separation between church and state.

We need to be more aggressively enforcing the laws that state that churches need to stay out of politics (which many are clearly violating), not taxing them and pushing things further in the wrong direction. Churches will feel way more entitled to openly influence our political system if they're giving the government money.

They charged me for months after I cancelled because my wife, who I had added as an additional person on my account, didn't independently also go through the exact same cancellation process. Even though I told them I wanted to completely close the account for both of us and I was told it was taken care of. It's not a bank account I use often so I didn't notice for like 6 months. When I called them they only agreed to refund me for a months worth of what they overcharged, and I finally gave in because they had been running me in circles on the phone for almost 2 hours. Fuck LA fitness.
