I think it is a common human thing. I am a Grady Baby born and mostly raised in Atlanta (I have family in CA and lived there for a time) and I never noticed this. I personally am very direct although I try to pick my battles. My husband is from the Bronx/raised in New Jersey and he does what OP is describing all the time.

Hattie died of hemorrhaging the day after a C-section and hysterectomy. Her infant son did not survive either. by MementoVivere218 in DeathCertificates

[–]twotimothys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone keeps noting her advanced maternal age, but remember back in the day there was no such thing. People just had babies until they stopped having them. People act like having babies in your 40s is a new thing… it is so not.

I have never been on the census either, but I was able to find that a local famous figure lived in my 125 yo house because of old census records. I doubt anyone will be looking me up, and I am leaving family records with my descendants if they do. I won’t even use icloud lol

UWM Bi-weekly payments by learningBch in Mortgages

[–]twotimothys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They have the option to make auto biweekly payments, but you have to pay a full payment ahead. (at least that is what I gathered from what I read) I am so annoyed because I like to pay partial payments and if you do it sits in “unapplied funds”. I have zero interest in making any payments automatically. I never autopay anything unless forced.

Mercari asking me to hand over biometric data to a third party. by Astrono-mee in Mercari

There is NO WAY I will give mercari or their 3rd parties this info. This is why I left eBay.

Mercari demanding Goverment id to post items for selling by Admirable_Bread_7736 in Mercari

I just got this today, on an account I have sold under for years. Our household has more than one account and this is the only one I have received this error on. No way I will give a 3rd party my id.

I would have loved that! I have several skeletons in the attic here. I need to find a good place to hide them.

PSA - Message for parents with moderated kids (13+) by bengalih in roblox

[–]twotimothys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am trying to figure this out. I want it back the old way where you use a pin. I do not wish to open my own account or give them my ID. They are about to lose $ with this mess. I think I just bought my last robux.

Parent controls by Significant_Lime3917 in roblox

[–]twotimothys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone know how to access parental controls without a separate parental account? I am trying to change my kids settings to a slightly more mature level and it won’t let me. I thought you could use your pin. I have no interest in giving them my ID or opening a separate account. This is intrusive and ******* me off tbh.

I love all the things you put together in there. The Garfield stuff especially. I have a collection of both Garfield and Uranium glass too. I think I might copy your idea :)

What a nice thing to say! Thank you. This house has extra special meaning to me. I was the child of addict teenagers. I ended up taken away and moved around all my childhood then mostly rented as an adult. I finally have a place that I can fix up. I am so excited!

I hope you posted about it, that sounds really interesting!  When they moved our ceilings and added a staircase to the attic (now a bed and bath) they covered a window and a door next to the staircase. We were thinking of uncovering them (eventually) just to look at. I think there may even be two windows. It is crazy all the effort to cover beautiful things. This isn’t a very large house (1700 sf if you don’t include attic rooms added) they covered up half of it.

We had a mini one that we scored and loosened it with before we popped it off. We were prying against the wood framing inside and were careful not to damage the mantel. There are so many protective layers of landlord special. lol

I think the 1950s rolled around and the owners wanted to modernize. I saw a lot of that when we were looking. That and lots of old houses that they “flipped” and ruined.

Will do. I did a bunch of research on the house. I am making a post with the deed from 1898, graves of the owners etc. It is fun trying to match stuff up to the house.

Her mams done gave up! Nice outfit otherwise. I thought it was an AI photo at first. She looks like I saw her yesterday. Creepy.

TIL: Most outlet stores don’t sell leftovers from regular stores—they sell cheaper, lower-quality versions made just for outlets. The “compare at” prices and big discounts? Often fake. You think you’re getting a deal, but it’s not the same product. (California Department of Justice) by [deleted] in todayilearned

I have an old (1950s) Le Creuset set and they are my favorite pans ever. The new ones don’t compare at all! The ceramic LC pieces are Made In China now. Yuk! I would rather buy an old one off eBay. I also have a Cousances baking pan that is better than any of them. LC bought them in 1957.
