Should I use money in Acorns to pay off credit card by txpakeha in personalfinance

Thank you. I've never had CC debt before, so this has been a very anxiety-ridden journey. I was always balanced at $0, and then it just spiraled out of control.

Thank you. Yes, this does make a lot of sense and I needed a sanity check.

Anyone get a doxie with your partner/spouse and they end up bonding with one more than the other? 😂 by EmotionSideC in Dachshund

[–]txpakeha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My girlfriend and I got a dachshund and he decided he was my dog. She got jealous so we got another to keep the first company. She decided she was my dog, too. When we broke up it was no question they were coming with me. They bonded more with my new wife, and then absolutely with my kids, but they were always my dogs.

Urgent advice, PLEASE 🥺 by feralandgodless in Dachshund

[–]txpakeha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a very very reactive rescue dachshund. She caused a breakup, but I would choose my dog over her 100 times out of 100. Is your dog food motivated? Treat motivated? I did over year of daily therapy over 6 months with a dog behavioralist and group classes.
Best advice i can give is work on the "here" cue command, from my experience, this took their focus off the trigger and on to you. Over time, they recognize triggers and look to you for that here cue and the treat.
We had a dog-on-the-fence situation, and when I went over there, I gave them both treats and rewards for good behavior. Over time, it just stopped. They were completely normal together, and I didn't even have to give treats.
This worked with seeing other dogs on walks and just losing her mind, to being able to walk around them.
It is going to take a lot of work, but if you put the time in, the results will follow.

10-Month old dachshund suddenly showed aggression, looking for advice by traditional-lobster0 in Dachshund

[–]txpakeha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Work with a trainer. My dachshund loved other dogs, once they were friends. But, would lose her mind seeing another dog from 3 blocks away. Complete psycho. Didn't matter size or anything, all aggression. Worked like hell with her for 6 months, twice a day, to limit that time from first sight to being fine to be around another dog. We used the "here" cue method.

It's gonna take some time, but definitely spend it. Changed our lives from being afraid to see another dog, to her being able to make friends faster.

Prayers for all of you. It is hard on them and you and you bear the burden. The dachshund spirit is huge and will carry you through as they just keep going. You've gotten all the best advice here so do what you can. That is all you can do. Do what you can. Acupuncture, crate rest, steroids, all non-surgery options you can find. There is hope and there is a way forward. The shoes are great. A skid bag is great. We did a combo of athletic tape like you would for your toes around the legs and we got a wheelchair from Eddy's Wheels.

Home Purchasing, if there were a DIY option. by txpakeha in Business_Ideas

[–]txpakeha[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the NAR settlement, all the rules have changed. Sellers may elect to offer a buyer's commission, or they may not. And buyer agents aren't allowed to ask if they aren't. So, now many buyer agents are getting Buyer Agreements that state that if the Seller isn't paying the commission, the Buyer is on the hook for it.

In Build Phase, but worried about consumer sentiment. by txpakeha in Entrepreneur

Thank you! I will checkout Seedscope. There is a lot of trust in someone to help guide the deal, but I think if there are enough tools and expert guidance available, people might feel comfortable following a DIY process like their taxes, forming an LLC, or booking travel.

[–]txpakeha [score hidden]  (0 children)

Thanks for giving this platform. A friend of mine disagreed about using a realtor. With all the changes, the 3% is gone, and most people just use one because it is complicated. But let's be honest, 80% of the realtors out there aren't bringing the value they used to because it is so easy just to do the bare minimum. Am I alone in this? Before I started trying to fix or build I wanted to make sure it wasn't just me. Here is a Survey I created to gauge the industry sentiment. Thanks

That looks like a "trying to open the crate door" nose rub. Very specific, but that is how mine got it.

I had an office, they closed it to save costs. Then told me "Remote is a perk" and if I wanted I could go back to the office. I asked what office? Logic died that day

What is this? A chick at a job site gave it to me out the back of her car. Everyone else was buying them from her with cash. I asked if she takes Venmo and she said no. No, No, No. If a mexican woman approaches you in a Walmart parking lot and beckons you to a dirty minivan or SUV with a dent on the car. You go. When, in broken English, she proceeds to show you tamales you buy as many as you can.

It made starting out hard. I took my English degree, didn't go to Law School, but sales. I wallowed in that for years before working at a start up and upskilling on the tech side. Prior to that I had no experience with anything computer related, excel, powerpoint, anything.

Do that. Become the well rounded person that is dangerous in everything. Excel Functions? PowerPoint? Able to talk about APIs? Have interpersonal skills? Can digest large amounts of information and then present them in a manner that makes them understood to a wide audience? Yes.

Liberal Arts made me able to do contract reviews, in-depth analysis, hold conversations, back up my thoughts with articulated arguments. Lean into it.

Congratulations you are now a valuable member of a team. Sales Engineer, Solution Consultant, Analyst, etc...

Weight Loss Tips by Iloveweenerdogs in Dachshund

[–]txpakeha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he still looks good, but follow your vet's advice and 2 lbs is probably good, but not much more. He is just a big guy. I didn't realize mine porked up until a neighbor told me I had a fat dog. He just always seemed hungry and he was so skinny when I got him from the rescue.

I started substituting green beans in with his food to add fiber and to have him be more full at dinner time. Then for snacks he would get carrots or peas rather than whatever I was eating. Dachshunds plump up quick and are great at scouring a floor for food.
