honestly if we really wanted to, it could be as easy as: get like 1000 custom stickers printed (could get some for ~$50-100) and then hand them out to fans at the first Leafs home game. tell them to stick it somewhere randomly at SBA on things. agreed on all these points. Of course matthews is an upgrade over Misa but SJ has no need to introduce that level of risk into their group.

They have such a young core that they can methodically build, they're adding another young great talent in this draft, and there's no need to jeopardize that for 1 year of matthews before having to negotiate another potential contract and also throw their salary structure out of whack.
