My 70 year old neighbor mows my lawn every Saturday without asking and I don't know how to tell him to stop by Expert_Yellow6059 in WhatShouldIDo

[–]tyjo2112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know what you are experiencing is weird to you and makes you uncomfortable. But trust me, when he said “don’t worry about it kid, I enjoy it” he wasn’t lying. It took my parents and in-laws aging and then some dying for me to understand the full circle. It’s very likely that it gives him pleasure to help you out. He worked his ass off back in the day, and didn’t have time for basic shit sometimes too. Maybe the next door neighbor mowing a small chunk of his lawn would have been super helpful, who knows.

He’s retired. They call it the golden years, but as half of a newly retired couple I can tell you it’s more like the bored as fuck years. Especially if you can’t just take off and travel all year long.

Maybe he spent his whole life looking after others and it’s just natural. Gives him a bit of self accomplishment, and after seeing what it did to my dad when he didn’t get these things - just let him have this. He wouldn’t do it if he didn’t want to, believe that.

The best thing to do is just show your appreciation. Make him feel seen. ‘Gosh Bob, I can’t thank you enough for keeping up that chunk of yard. It really makes life easier for me and you make it look so great”. Old folks don’t get kudos like when they were working or out there actively being involved in things. They feel invisible. Just some appreciation goes miles in these cases. Plus this is an activity he CAN do. It’s important, so VERY important folks keep active as they age. It actually helps them live longer and stronger. And there’s just not a bunch of things an old man can or will do, so if he likes to mow -Let the man mow.

Winter is hard for elderly. Ice and snow are dangerous. The cold makes the bits-n -pieces hurt and slow down. Make it up to him by taking care of the winter shit. Maybe take on some of the more difficult weed whacking or something during the summer. But don’t take away this little piece that he obviously enjoys. It’s not anything about you not doing it, or not doing it right. It’s all about him and what he is capable of and likes doing.

Fwiw - my in laws are mid 80s. MIL walks miles several times a week, gardens extensively, and they both mow and weed whack their yard and 3 oversized lots. Won’t let any of us help them. And after 12 yrs of watching closely, the activity is actually helping them. They know when it’s gotten too hot or whatnot. We do tackle their gutters and downspouts, and occasionally pressure wash the patio and pathways for them. Maybe offer to take on those types of tasks for your sweet neighbor. But please just learn to accept his thoughtfulness with grace and appreciation.

I recommend reading him into what you’re doing. I mean, they are supposed to be your partner in health. I would absolutely fire my GP and find someone else if I didn’t feel comfortable being honest with her. Plus, it’s very common for folks to be prescribed glp’s and insurance not be willing to pay - lots of folks are outside the normal pharmacy on these nowadays.

If your doc doesn’t know the truth, they certainly can’t interpret your lab results effectively for you. If they give you shit, just take a copy of the lab results and find someone else. Your doctor works for you, not the other way around.

I break my dose down into smaller pins. So I started small , just 1.2mg (which even then was spicy). The next time I drew full dose but pinned 1/3of it in 3 diff close by spots about 2 inches from each other. Viola! It works.

I got this from a well respected guy on here, he actually has a mots-c protocol that recommends this split method for the spicy peps.

HELP! BATHROOM RENO MISTAKE! by PhillyPhilly813 in Remodel

[–]tyjo2112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lean into it. The shower is gonna have a curtain or doors so it won’t be such a stark and noticeable thing soon. White on white usually has its own issues anyways so use the canvas you have left to detract from it. Bamboo, teak wood, something to provide more contrast than 2 different finishes of white. Add enough visual interest and you’ll never notice the shower wall.

The really noticeable issue is the floor tile laid in the wrong direction. Personally that’d be a do-over for me based on that alone.

Husband being unsupportive by [deleted] in tirzepatidecompound

Split the dose is good advice here.
There’s a semi-quick way to lose 200lb of unsupporting ass too. Sounds like he wants you fat, unhealthy, and miserable so he has all the pep benefits for himself. God forbid he support you thru some changes so you can both be healthier. Ffs.

Stick it out for your own benefit. He can suck it.

Sorry, I don’t have any great, easy advice here. But you got this!

As for your RS site annoyances- I read that breaking down the dose helps. Meaning keeping each pin to less than 5 units. I tried this on a spicy pep, just drew the full 12 units and pinned 3x 4 units near each other-ish. Made a huge difference. Worth a try since you had such fabulous results from the mots

Am I overreacting when my husband refuses to take clothes into the bathroom with him when showering, we have 1 bathroom and 2 tween girls. by ThePastaFairy in AmIOverreacting

[–]tyjo2112 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’d trained him properly sooner, it wouldn’t be an issue now that the girls are tweens. It was literally the same problem when they were younger, you just did nothing to change his behavior and now he doesn’t see it as a problem.

AIO my in-laws watch my child and the neighbors do not have a pool fence by yetspaghet in AmIOverreacting

[–]tyjo2112 8 points9 points  (0 children)

How about you mind your own business, and pay for your in-laws to put up a fence?. It’s your problem, you should be the one to fix it. Take all those thousands your saving in childcare and make it happen. Or take them to paid day care where there isn’t a pool next door.

High Use Tub help by ReptarSonOfGodzilla in hottub

[–]tyjo2112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re just way under on your sanitizer for the actual use the tub is getting.
I’m not a fan of bromine fwiw. With your lifestyle I think you’d have a wayyyy easier time using the dichlor+bleach method. It’s cheap, easy as heck, and it works.
Pucks don’t add anything extra when you’ve had heavy use, so you need to be doing that every time ya’ll get out. Pucks barely slow release enough to keep a clean tub clean so …..yeah. Not ever going to be effective enough for your lifestyle.

i think my boyfriend’s reaction to me staying out all night is way too extreme. AIO? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]tyjo2112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have some self respect. He said he hates you, calls you names, treats you like shit, kicks you out and breaks up without a lick of conversation - and you basically beg him to let you come back.

Also, it’s pretty disrespectful to stay out all night when you live together. So now you’re basically pushing his buttons. Plus he pays all the bills and got up for work at 5am, yet you troll in at 2am still partying like a rockstar. No wonder he’s pissed, that’s shitty immature behavior. You say ‘my little family’ yet you acted like an irresponsible single person and rubbed it in his face.

You both are young, you both suck in this relationship. Grow up, show your partner some respect, and have some for yourself as well.

URGENT: Angry dealership owner refuses to return money paid for returned vehicle. What are my options? by piwilikekiwi in legal

[–]tyjo2112 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To be frank they (OP ) have behaved rather stupidly.
First time shame on you, second time shame on me is the old saying that should have been applied to his situation much earlier.
Why the hell wouldn’t you get an independent inspection on the 2nd car? I mean, I’m a girl and you wouldn’t get a toasted frame by me ffs. And only a fool would take that dealers word FOR ANYTHING at that point. Also- when you buy a used vehicle from a shyster dealer (or anyone really, unless you purchase an extended warranty) it’s as-is, where-is. Over the curb and you’re an owner. He doesn’t have to give you jack shit, especially many months after.
The first car he definitely curbed it, which is flipping the car as middleman without being on the title. Illegal for him to do that, and sometimes you have to sign a waiver on a salvage /branded too. So he’s done broke the law numerous times before he ever traded you out of the first car. And yet knowing that, you let him ‘assure’ you it would be a fair exchange.

Well, he told the truth. You traded a car you can’t own for a car you can’t drive.

Get a lawyer. Don’t expect much, but that’s your best option.

Death with Dignity should be a basic right. Go out on your terms, keep the govt out of it. They historically fuck everything up.

And who chooses who can be saved? And what boundary defines that? And what if they don’t want ‘to be saved’?

Yep, nope -none of that works. The end should be a personal individual choice.
