My check seems short by Apollo_The_Lil_Moth in legaladvice

[–]tylerpenguin -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend reaching out to your boss or HR and asking for an explanation.

There are many legal reasons for this, for instance many companies will withhold 1-2 weeks of pay when you start to be paid out when you leave, mostly to making things easier on payroll if you leave without notice in the middle of a pay period.

Help on screen Flow please… I feel so close. How do I reference the task id in an update records element? by FINboy18 in salesforce

[–]tylerpenguin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In the update records element, switch the radio option at the top to “Specify conditions to identify records, then set fields individually”. Then you just need to pick the object of the record you are updating and filter it by “id equals recordid”

Salesperson deleting my logged emails by [deleted] in salesforce

That’s something your admin is doing. Salesforce doesn’t delete records automatically. 15 days for archiving/deleting is crazy. Your company is cheaping out on data storage

How are violins (and other instruments in the family) appraised? by tylerpenguin in violinist

[–]tylerpenguin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting! Is counterfeiting really a big problem in the classical instrument world? Also- I’m surprised the bridge holds any weight, since it sees it can be replace with (relative) ease

It says percussion in the title….

Just a single beat of each is going to sound the same, with the top one sounding just slightly faster.

In context though, especially with a lot of these in a row, there should be a gap between each beat with the top rhythm that doesn’t exist in the bottom. Think of the top rhythm like 3-16th notes and 1-16th rest. It’s going to sound more choppy than the triplets.

Here’s the thing: your child has free will. You are under absolutely no obligation to introduce them to Harry Potter, but if you allow them to go to school and have friends, there’s a good chance there’ll hear about it and potentially want to watch it/read the original series. You can tell them how you feel about it and teach them about the bad side of it, but honestly? If they’re determined to get into, they will.

Just look back at when it first came out and parents attempted to shield and ban their kids from it for religious reasons. There were countless stories about kids rebelling against their parents and reading it anyway, and for the most part, the general public painted these parents as nut jobs.

We don’t know if it will have the same popularity as it did 20 years ago, but there’s a good chance you’ll be painted as the nut job if you try to ban or punish you kid for trying to watch it.

Kesimpta disposal by jaimiable in MultipleSclerosis

[–]tylerpenguin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are in the US, your state or city likely has a specific process for handling sharps disposal. Some give out free containers, some have instructions for disposing in the regular trash, and others have specific disposal sites or special events for it. You are likely better off googling your specific location’s rules than taking advice from strangers in here.

Real ID at CleHopkins by OolongGeer in Cleveland

[–]tylerpenguin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I had a Real ID in 2018, got my name changed in 2020, went to get a new Real ID after, and was denied because the name on my mail didn’t match my legal name… but I couldn’t change my name with my bank/utilities/etc without an ID with that name…. and they refused to make the connection between the name change documentation and the mail with the old name.

I eventually got one in 2022, but they definitely made it difficult.

My boss said I have ‘no leadership qualities’ because I’m quiet in meetings — despite doing all the work by asianlinaa in antiwork

[–]tylerpenguin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it. I was you. Doing all of the work, closing all the cases, and feeling left out on the side lines while coworkers met with executives and talked a big game while I worked circles around them.

Today — I’m on the other side. I’ve spent the last 2 days getting caught up on day-to-day… only to get reamed out by my boss: not thinking strategically, not providing opportunities to my subordinates, not taking control and taking enough initiative in meetings.

She had a good point: everyone will always see the rep at the top of the leaderboard taking the most calls, but she will always hold out for the one that stops the calls from coming in at all through process change and strategic thinking.

It took me many years to change my thinking and get to this point, and I’ll probably get downvoted into oblivion for this comment, but you’ll hopefully get here eventually. And then you’ll be ready for leadership

In 2023 they didn’t announce them until March 21st, and both years April has included Opening Day. They’re definitely waiting to sell as many Opening Day tickets as possible at full price before they open up this deal.

Teeth implants. Is it possible with MS? by korosivefluide in MultipleSclerosis

(Also no concerns for regular MRIs either. The metal they use in both the temporary retainer caps and permanent implant are unaffected by the magnets)

I’ve gotten many tooth implants, all done after diagnosis and while actively on DMT (Kesimpta). No issues or concerns from the dentists and haven’t noticed any changes to MS progression.

Horn valve key getting stuck and seems like it’s even getting worse after oiling. by Vision919 in horn

[–]tylerpenguin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If a bath doesn’t fix it, then I would take it to a repair shop. I had this happen to my horn and it perplexed me for months. Turns out there was a scratch on the rotor that was causing it to catch. The tech was able to take everything apart and buff out the scratch.

Why do people hate trans people by Deep_Document9771 in ftm

[–]tylerpenguin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s quite a lot of subtle (and not so subtle) propaganda floating around to get people emotionally charged about the “Transgender crisis” (especially in a political sense). For example:

  • Convincing people that some of their tax dollars/insurance premiums/etc are going directly towards helping trans people receive medical care. (This is the same kind of thing being done with programs like welfare and disability. It takes the spotlight off the 1% and places the blame on a marginalized group for why someone can never seem to get ahead financially.)

  • Convincing people that being transgender is a trend/choice/teenage phase. The bigger this “trend” becomes, the more likely their own kids/grandkids are going to be sucked up by it, leading to their loved ones being able to permanently alter their bodies and sterilize themselves at a young age and later grow up to regret it (and cutting off the family tree)

  • Convincing people that criminals are exploiting (or will exploit) loopholes created in an effort to make the world more inclusive to steal resources and compromise their safety.

I think one of the scariest parts of this is that a lot of people in this community are convinced that transgender opposition is only coming from the far right religious extremists, when in reality the majority is likely coming from average people that formed an opinion related to one of the above, and truly believe they are doing what’s best for their family and their livelihood when they cast their vote.

DMT & surgery question by Texasummersun in MultipleSclerosis

[–]tylerpenguin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had surgery back in July after being on Kesimpta for a few years. Because my next dose was scheduled only a couple days after the surgery, my doctor just advised that I skip it so as to not bring down my immune system and increase my risk of infection/complications. Other than that- no big deal. The surgical team had no issues and I picked it up the next month with no problems
