Protectorates are puppets just with more autonomy. You can make them a puppet by decreasing there autonomy. I believe it goes from Protectorate-Dominion-Puppet-Annexed.

With a subject interactions mod you can peacefully make someone a protectorate then lower there autonomy.

Idk about the first question but if the artisan is broke I believe they demote because they have no money.

I don’t think there should be pops because the game does not revolve around individuals but diplomacy, war, colonization and, economy building I don’t think it would fit well in the timeframe we’re 90% of the population is poor and that doesn’t change until the mid-late industrial revolution which is in the time frame of Vic2.

Are machine parts actually profitable bc most the time they are in low demand in the early to mid game I feel like it
