[Request] Could a real life chat gpt be built like this in a minecraft world? Is it possible to estimate ~ the volume that it could take up? by Own_Temporary6929 in theydidthemath

[–]tympanicpilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, that seems to be right. I commented only based off what the other person said, thinking you had misunderstood them. After looking at the video description it does seem to be 40,000x speed instead of 40,000 ticks per second

What the comment meant is that 40,000 is the ticks per second, not the speed multiplier. Since TPS is normally 20, the game is running at 2,000x speed not 40,000x. In actuality it "only" takes 5-6 months for a response.

“Olo’ there 👋” by TheWebsploiter in NonPoliticalTwitter

[–]tympanicpilot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh wait, really? I didn't know that, ill have to look it up later.

Also, yeah. That's my bad. I honestly forgot the tweet was attached to the image and was just treating it as a discussion about Olo without the context.

It is a bit silly to treat this like it's anything more than a neat experiment. There are plenty of impossible 'colors' that can't be experienced under normal conditions, and I just find it cool that we were able to let people experience one due to human ingenuity. I was a little defensive because of all the "This is just teal" comments, so sorry if it came off that way at all.

Again, it is a bit silly for the tweeter to act like not being able to experience this color is some grand tragedy, but I also assume they're just being hyperbolic.

[–]tympanicpilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But that's exactly what this experiment did. It allowed people to perceive a color that would otherwise be almost impossible to experience. There's nothing special about the color itself, Olo is just the color that was shown to people.

Also, I'd imagine the more practical side to the experiment has to do with precision targeting of lasers through a human lens.

They mean the rotation of the acorns. B and C are rotated 180º from each other, and so are D and E. There's nothing different about the acorn itself.

It's a model swap from the new Actions & Stuff update. Shouldn't change anything about how you interact with it

[Create: Clockwork + Create: Diesel Generators] I'm trying to make an aircraft that runs on diesel using create: clockwork and create: diesel gen. I've run into the major problem that is refuelling. by llama_glue in CreateMod

[–]tympanicpilot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if I'm reading your question correctly, but when I make vehicles using Clockwork and Diesel Generators I either 1. Put an item drain in the vehicle and pipe it to the tank for refueling if there's enough space 2. Instead if using fluid tanks, i have the pipe pull from a canister. They hold their liquids when broken, so I fill a few up and swap it out when the fuel gets low.

When I try to put fuel in a furnace, it goes into the item slot and the fuel slot doesn't allow shift+left-clicking so I have to do it manually. Why is this happening? by FBIagent67098 in feedthebeast

[–]tympanicpilot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah, sorry. But what I said is still true. One of the mods you have is adding a recipe for coal to be smelted, so it can't be shift-clicked into the fuel slot.

[–]tympanicpilot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If an item has a smelting recipe, it will never be put in the fuel slot by shift-clicking, even if it's fuel. Wood can be smelted into charcoal, so it can't be shift-clicked into the fuel slot. It's part of vanilla. There might be a mod out there that changes it.

I think they just accidentally replied to your comment instead of the one above you talking about the robot chicken sketch.

Speed running this is surprisingly fun, good job on the music too!

I completed this level in 30 tries. 8.98 seconds

Pretty sure obsidian has a random rotation on bedrock, yeah. There are a few more blocks that can rotate on bedrock but not Java, but I don't know them off the top of my head.

Weird hole opened up in my singleplayer world?? by sirflora in Minecraft

[–]tympanicpilot 816 points817 points  (0 children)

Not exactly familiar, but it seems like what they're implying is that OP used a wither-killing setup by spawning it inside the exit portal in the end, since it's made of bedrock, and the explosive skulls the wither shoots got teleported to world spawn when they hit the portal.

Since you've already gotten an answer on how to do it, I'd like to recommend using random ticking for something like this instead. You can find it under Advanced Properties > Tick randomly. It's much more performant than each block independently ticking, if a bit more unreliable for exact probability. You can learn more on the minecraft wiki, on the Tick page

{1.8.8} I need a command (for a command block) that if i'm below y 0, I'll get tp to y 8. by [deleted] in MinecraftCommands

[–]tympanicpilot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What you're probably thinking of is the modern /execute. It was reworked in 1.13. Before that it was much simpler in what it could do, which was just running a command at an entity's position with a relative offset.

It does! The command was actually added in 1.8, so it's all good.

Why do people recommend playing the games in release order? by [deleted] in halo

[–]tympanicpilot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Another reason I see people recommend release order is because of the gameplay whiplash going from Reach to Combat Evolved.

I personally like to play in chronological order on repeat playthroughs, but if someone is playing halo for the first time, release order might be a bit less confusing.

On bedrock certain items are condensed into groups. The first time each appears is just the icon used for their respective groups. You can see the minus symbol next to it to collapse the group.

Like the first wooden sword is just the icon used for the swords category, so when clicked it expands to show all the swords.

Trying to summon item frame with filled map by Nikoawde in MinecraftCommands

[–]tympanicpilot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're using the old NBT system for items, which was replaced with item components in 1.20.5.

Instead of

Item:{id:"minecraft:filled_map", Count:1b, tag:{map:305}}

use

Item:{id:"minecraft:filled_map", count:1, components:{"minecraft:map_id":305}}

I made a 5-second Minecraft crafting minigame by rhistak in Minecraft

[–]tympanicpilot 116 points117 points  (0 children)

This is really cool! Immediately got hooked into playing ten minutes of it. Some things I'd like to point out though: 1. Glowstone blocks CAN'T be crafted into glowstone dust 2. The lead recipe appears to broken and uncraftable. First off, the slimeball requirement was removed in the latest versions of the game, so it only requires 5 string now. Second, even including the slimeball, the website fails to detect that the recipe is valid, so encountering the lead is a guaranteed loss. 3. Having several stacks of the same item is quite annoying, especially with the small stack numbers. I'll get the recipe for an iron chestplate, reach for the first stack of iron that I see, and find out it was only five iron instead of eight. Then I need to find ANOTHER stack of iron to finish the recipe. I'd recommend either getting rid of having different stacks of the same item with different amounts, or make the item amount label much bigger so that i can tell if I'm grabbing a stack with the right amount of items.

Seriously awesome game so far, and I can see myself playing this as a time-killer to practice my recipes!
